It's Korean this time~ I'm loving this BL wave recently. *bathes in BL* *reads synopsis*: 'One day an unknown suffocating feeling leads Hagil to run away from home in the midst of studying. Sitting on a bench in Bupyeong with nowhere to go, Hagil meets eyes with Junhyung. Not wanting to return home, he takes on Junhyung’s offer and goes home with the other. Junhyung calls him “Happy” and Junhyung’s family members also accept him as such. Due to Junhyung unusually taking care of him and even introducing him to his friends as his pet, Hagil realizes that something is weird.' *tsukkomis*: The setting is what's weird, oi! Un, I'm looking forward to it~
Has anyone read/MTL The Peach Blossom Debt (桃花债) by 大风刮过? I wanted to know if it is very similar or what is the differences (aside from being bl) to Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. I saw a bit of the latter translation online and saw many praising it, but then I found that it was plagiarized and one person said the original is superior (obviously) than the copy.
tbh, i think I've read too many series with MCs having an abused/taken-for-granted backstory that i welcome series like that which are a bit refreshing. it's like washing the after-taste of those novels.
I was the one posted that comment lol. The story is not very similar now, but you can find a lot of the settings, dramas, and events similar to PBD if you've read both works. However, in the oldest version, there were indeed a lot of sentences taken directly rom PBD without even changing the words, but they managed to rewrite all of them already. PBD is not the only book that was plagiarized by TLTWTMPB, only the MC and ML were taken from it. All the side characters's stories are taken from other novels such as 思凡, 非我倾城. But I wouldn't say that which novel is "superior". It really ends up being personal tastes. A lot of readers, especially who don't read BL often, actually think that the latter work was better. However, I'm just really pissed about this author's personality. It's ultimately disgusting. Most of her works were accused of plagiarism actually, and there are so many evidence about it on internet. It's just that they are not serious enough, and it's really hard to protect originality of work in China.
Ah ok, thanks for the explanation. I actually found out about the plagiarism on Amazon because someone was selling the translation of TLTWTMPB. Quite a bit of older reviews said it was plagiarism and I read about the TLTWTMPB's author bullying the original author. Funny, a reviewer, who did not know about the plagiarism issue, actually said the book had a LGBT atmosphere, with an emphasis on gay love.
