My phrasing was weird... I didn't think too much before typing... Don't worry about the small details... :sweating_profusely::sweating_profusely::sweating_profusely:

If I recall, I think @villain used Challonge to make tournament standing images for the Battleship and Jan-Ken-Pon games.

I think they have a Round Robin (and Swiss Tournament) mode too.

Dunno if this helps, but mentioning it for now!

Oh yeah, you should do round robin.

The only organized chess tournament that I entered paired winners with winners, and it was terrible.
I was in elementary school and I was against a bunch of other Chinese elementary schoolers, and I had to face this really smart Chinese dude while suppressing the urge to go to the bathroom on the last round. (got fifth place out of 26 so it wasn't too bad, I guess)
Reasons why I don't play chess irl.

A round robin is a kind of tournament setup where every person plays everyone. They're popular in a casual setting because they're considered friendly to beginners (in single or double elimination tournaments, the weakest players often don't get past the first round, and they're often paired against the highest seeded players).

The downside is that you can't really do round robins when you have too many players. So for 12 players, you'd have 11 rounds, since each player has to play everyone else. And... that's a lot of rounds.

There are two common methods to reduce the number of rounds:

    Swiss Tournament: (Wikipedia page)
This is similar to a round robin except you decide to limit the games to X number of rounds (e.g. 4).
For each round, players are matched by a program to players who have a similar running score.
This is really the same thing as pairing winners with winners, and losers with losers, and making sure nobody is paired twice.

    Multi-stage Tournament:
I'll use FIFA World Cup as an example. There's a group stage, which is a 4-team round robin (3 matches).
Then, the winners of the group stages proceed to the next stage (single-elinination).
Frankly, you can organize this however you want.

    A few small updates:

@Mikey was kicked because he disappeared without warning, @LysUltima was put on their place.

@Little Evil was added on a match that @L4 was in because I forgot that @Little Evil wanted to play, and because I'm having troubles setting up a convo with @L4 .

Regarding the problems on setting up a convo, I don't really want to remove someone that wants to play, so I just put him on BYE while we solve the technical issues... This kinda means we'll have one BYE every round, but I think this isn't a problem.

Also, if any pair of people is not comfortable with playing on the Forum format, just sign up at https://www.chess.com/ and send me a link to the match. (thanks @NZPIEFACE for the idea) (Disclaimer: I have no idea how to get the link to the match and have it sent, Pie-kun just did that on his match with Rea-chan and I think it worked out well.)

Oh, and TOC already has the list of matches, as they end I'll make posts listing them up and I'll link them on the TOC.

Some of the games are getting 2-4 moves per day... I'll probably start round 2 while the 1st is still ongoing, but I'll wait a few more days.

    And well, timezones! >.<
    Random.org will decide that! \(^^)/
