There are 3 separate powerful kingdoms: Kingdom A, Kingdom B, and Kingdom C.

A dragon who belongs to Kingdom A just flew past the border of Kingdom B coming from Kingdom A and is carrying 2 adult citizens of Kingdom C. The two adults, a man and a woman, are citizens of Kingdom C and they literally just gave birth to a child.

Every kingdom wants to get the child because, well it is an Isekai story, and the child is, of course, the reincarnation of a Jap guy that just got killed by truck-san and is destined to become an OP MC.

So, who should own the kid?
Kingdom A, because the baby is born on top of the dragon and the dragon is the property of Kingdom A and therefore the baby is born in their land.
Kingdom B, because the destination of the baby is kingdom B and technically, since the dragon pass the air space of Kingdom B, then they are in the territory of Kingdom B and therefore the citizenship of the Baby should be Kingdom B.
Or Kingdom C, because, well in the first place, both parents are from kingdom C, so citizenship of the baby goes to them.

Was the baby born in the airspace above Kingdom A or Kingdom B?
Like, at the moment of birth.

Niiice, would be a pretty good plot... :D time to snowflake the shit out of that premise xD

Except... who IS the bloody kid... if it's a 'commoner'... doubt the kingdoms would care and it'd be up to the parents methinks...

it is dependant on the citizens situation. Did they run away from kingdom C? did they (try to) immigrate to kingdom A? did any of the other kingdoms have the balls to demand anything from a mofo-ing dragon?

Since the baby is a reincarnated he will not be bound by any kingdom, but join the adventurer guild, gather slaves of demi-girls and maybe if there is time between expanding the harem, avenge his parents.

Kingdom C ofcourse, a child cant be a citizen of both kingdom A and B if the childs parents arent citizens of those kingdoms. It doesnt mean that if you just pass by in a kingdom then youll be automatically a citizen of that kingdom. Who cares if the child is riding a dragon, its like riding an airplane they are just tourist haha

It depends on where the dragon lands and where the couple settle.

As of yet the only one who knows about the couple having a child is the dragon and unless he can communicate with others then the destination is their nationality, otherwise the dragon might just take them to kingdom A and that is the end of that.

    So basically... This:
    http://www.npr.org/sections/krulwic...ky-whats-your-nationality-an-airplane-puzzler

Well, in a fantasy setting, I think the child would belong to which ever country it was censused in... Most likely where it landed, since there is no dragon airport where you can prove it was born in the air or elsewhere for that matter. If the parents don't report the kid, it's nationality is the same as it's parents.

Pretty damn rich commoners to be riding on a dragon eh? Assuming dragons aren't docile and need training to let people ride on them that is.

It depends ... do the kingdoms apply the principles of jus solis or jus sanguinis - both, just one and to what degree ...
