Not allowing is discrimination itself. Some people need to realise that there are some people who were raised without knowing that what they're doing is discrimination.
A World without Discrimination is impossible, ever since the World came to be there's already Discrimination.

Discrimination permeates society at every level. Of course you are going to judge things based on certain criteria. Anyone who says that they can walk into any situation and not have any preconceptions is a liar.

True. But it usually occurs because an perceived need to distinguish one person from another. Not necessarily good. We have a lot of problems in the world because people insist on doing so in a group and with an aggressive agenda. Discrimination alone is not a problem. It's the packages that come along with it.

Well.. I don't ask people to agree with me..
But I absolutely wouldn't favor someone I hate... Except there is no choice other than to accept His/her proposal.. (Let say I am a leader of a certain group)

I think we all agree laws should not allow discrimination.
But in privacy, what you're talking about, is it communitarianism or discrimination ?
Without thinking too much about it, I have the feeling communitarianism is OK if all communities have the same rights.

Quick question, is holding a friend-only party wrong?
Can you just walk in into a friend-only party and expect to be treated the same as the host's friend?
You're free to discriminate as you like in private life, but don't do it in social and professional life,

Of course there is something wrong, violence is only one part of (the possible effect of) discrimination

I think the anti discrimination efforts have been taken too far in some cases. For example targeting religious organizations for requiring that leaderships positions within the organization be open only to people of the religion.

What's wrong is that people get so butthurt over it. For any discrimination issue like race, gays, feminism, etc., the only reason it's an issue is because people make it an issue. Obviously something like the Jim Crow laws is wrong and should be shut down, but controlling anything beyond that is just unnecessary meddling.

Especially when there's a huge double standard. It's fine for there to be women only places but women will throw a fit at men only places.

Bad. It's a non-question as far as I'm concerned. It's like asking if stealing is bad at a beach. Then you get the most bare bones answers because they unlikely to care.
Because they are at the beach and probably haven't even thought about it. So this isn't even a decent forum for such a question.
Not to belittle anybody (myself included) -but if I wanted a serious, thought provoking answer, I wouldn't ask it at NU.
Granted, there aren't too many places online you can ask a question like this without stupidity showing itself at every turn. NU is great but people here fall under the category of not thinking deeply and just not caring. Here is a great place if you want to be serious. But phrase your questions clearly and honestly. It's not a place for jokesters unless you want to be put in your place.
And 'your place' just breaks of discrimination
