How is being eternal, or immortal when the rank 9 of other universes can kill him? Code: He now sensed many other beings outside the astral plane, possessing similar power to him. There was technology, supernatural abilities… All kinds of beings came before his mind. that's why at the end he is pursuing other beings similar to him. to reach his goal.
People of simliar power being able to kill you doesn't mean you aren't immortal You can live forever and being killable don't have to be separate
Code: ‘I am close to eternity, but not truly there. With the laws of spacetime mastered, the next task is to create a law that surpasses all others, standing on the path of the truth… The larger the multiverse, the more there is for me to explore…’ ppl you understand the definition of being immortal? having unlimited health, hp, life isn't being immortal.
Immortal: 1 : exempt from death the immortal gods 2 : exempt from oblivion : imperishable immortal fame 3 : connected with or relating to immortality 4 : able or tending to divide indefinitely immortal cell lines produced in culture invulnerable 1 : incapable of being wounded, injured, or harmed 2 : immune to or proof against attack : impregnable who is referring to what? and I quote it again.
the system with greek gods seems to be quite different from xianxia types, they're sustained by faith and could "revive" even if they were physically annihilated. actually not long lifespan, but a "theoretically" no-lifespan, simply put they can exist indefinitely. there are other definitions of immortality too, like "i exist yet do not" e.g. conceptually immortal, like the canonized saints.
We in a xianxia so it's xianxia immortality to me There's characters billions of years old in Stellar Transformations yet can be killed Never crossed my mind to associate indestructibility with immortality
yeah, in xianxia there are many ways to kill something thats supposedly immortal or outright undying. so its literally impossible to become absolutely impervious to death.
I believe leylin was aiming for "completely indestructible" type of immortality. which he achieved... but only within his own universe and only so long as his universe is not invaded by a universe devourer. So he became one himself to preempt others Also, in comments some people mentioned khail is supposedly leylin's equivalent in the universe leylin came from actually how the heck did leylin transmigrate into an entire different multiverse? he didn't just hope between different worlds within the astral plane (which is insane in of itself considering even rank 4s can't easily and safely travel there). but his rank 0 soul somehow hopped between multiverses then travelled in the astral plane to end up in the world of magi
the creator-level MCs in IET novels are theoretically indestructible, but thats only because theres no one strong enough to kill them. actually, it would depend on the type of story, indestructible MCs would be ideal for shounen mangas like one punch man.
Leylin seems genuinely immortal to me, since as long as anything with intelligence lives, he will never die. There is no one strong enough to stop his resurrection in the other worlds, as everyone is near his level (at least the regions he surveyed).
maybe they're connected in someway? like the river of destiny or the law of creations. as for how leylin did it... well plot armor, but even without that theres also the chance where his A.I. merged soul is an outlier.
Seeing how we know Leylin, being immortal and indestructible only within his area isn't true immortality to him That's way at the end tho And can't they still kill each other especially the first guy seems strong enough
