What is the best type of sensors if I want to measure an altitude drop (if a human wears the sensor and falls I want it to detect the change in altitude) and what should I be looking for in Wi-Fi modules?
I forgot to mention that I was asking for models since there are so many options i don't know what to choose

if you are putting together stuff yourself I would recommend a good barometer, pressure and altitude 3 in 1

Umm... gyro sensor should be able to that if I'm not mistaken/forgotten. Since it has 3 axis parameters.

depends on the distance to the ground or closest body.

Infrared sensors are usually used for close distance sensors

I wanted to make something wearable that detects when the user falls and as far as I know infrared sensors would need to be pointed to the ground to work.

for what exactly do you plan to use it? that can make it easier to find what suits you

I want to make something wearable like gloves or a hat or a wristband that can detect the fall of the wearer.

who is the wearer and what height is expected to be measured?

    Don't skydivers use altimeters?

If you're looking to track something as it falls I'm sure there's some GPS out there that can do it.

the question is fall in what context?

are you looking to detect a fall from a motorcycle?

    skydiving?

"Help i've fallen and can't get up"

    timmy down a well?

    off a balance beam?

    Off the wagon?

    from grace?

The wearer is human so the height would probably range from 1,6 m to 2m and I'm thinking about falling onto the floor from a standing position.

then you require a more precision based sensor.
now another question is. is it to keep track of health or for experimental purposes?
if its for health there are other types of tools much cheaper to keep track of. if for experiments, then idk for wearable ones, but there are stationary sensors to track and calculate falling velocity and that crap.

For health and I want it to notificate somebody if the user falls.

shouldn't accelerometer & gyroscopes do? You just gotta figure out how they will read out when a body is falling vs walking/jerking around/jumping/etc

an accelerometer would be the best option however, wearing it near the center of gravity is a better way to know exactly the distance you've fallen instead of wearing it in a glove for exemple.
thus it would need to be put on a belt

you should ask doctors to check if they are useful at all. because that is not my area of expertise. sorry.
