What is the difference between east and west dragons?

    As the title says i am confused about the difference between east dragon(chinese)and western dragon
    1-The 2 are type of lizards.
    2-spit fire.
    3-west with wings and east with no wings
    4-east have a beard ,not sure about west
    5-east seems to be a combination of different creatures(5 talons).

    Why they keep saying eastern is stronger dragon?,i mean no offense or anything just want to know the answer so no one say i am rude or anything please.

    western dragon are like "animals" powerful but stupid, like a knight come and kill it and take the princess easy but easter dragon are "demon" powerful and intelligent being, it's like a human brain in a behemoth. I see it like this.

    The east possess more 'divinity' and 'mystic' while west is just brute force mostly.

    For me, western is closely look like a lizard; eastern look like a snake.

    By my tiny knowledge,
    The eastern ones are deemed as gods/deities or powerful beings that is a bit impossible to defeat or even harmed while the western ones are always been depicted as over grown lizards that can breathe fire, fly and still in the realms of killable by knights.

    Maybe because western dragons are at most few hundred meters long and eastern are thousands of miles long?

    Eastern Dragons look like snake with wings.
    And Western Dragon look like regular dragon(like the dragons in Skyrim)

    There are more differences than similarities, they're really not the same type of creature at all. Although in modern times, the eastern dragon in popular culture has turned more and more into just a longer, more snake-like version of the western dragon.

    Traditionally, the eastern dragon was often seen as almost god-like, having magical powers and controlling the elements, while western dragons were basically just powerful beasts who breathe fire. Again though, in modern fantasy they've both been mixed together and changed a lot, so western dragons tend to be ancient and wise creatures with magical powers, so the difference now depends on the specific story.

    Going to add to this because what he said is correct. Eastern dragons have more of an affinity with water. Think of Haku from Spirited Away as he is an Eastern Dragon. There are differences between Chinese and Japanese dragons but they roughly look the same.

    Eastern dragon looks like serpent or winged serpent with deer antler as its horn while western dragon looks like big (and usually muscular) lizard with wing
    Just imagine eastern dragon as shenlong who fullfill any wish in dragonball series (or Slifer the Sky Dragon, rayquaza, dratini, dragonair), and for western dragon just imagine bahamut from final fantasy series (or Blue Eyes White Dragon, salamence, dragonite, zekrom, reshiram, kyurem and so on)

    Western : Winged Lizards
    Eastern : Winged Snakes / Serpents

    Western : Loners, many of them just find an area , make it their home and start living there
    Eastern : Bloodlines, many of them have family hierarchies and want to be worshipped so they might set up a small nation or two

    Western dragons are dragons. Eastern dragons were only called dragons because they almost sort of resembled western dragons, so someone decided to conflate them together and call the long a dragon. Really, the only reason they're considered the same type of creature at all is tradition, there's very little similarity.
