Isn't it obvious? We're talking about getting Star Beasts here. It's a place ripe with risks out the ass. Like for one thing.... it's 1 pair at a time at any time. Then you're trapped if you fail... There are other Star Master/Star General pairs who may try to kill you. There's probably other dangers... cuz, yeah. Star Duels. Oh, and Su Xing has to do this already dangerous task not 1, not 2, but potentially EIGHT times!? Nevermind that 3 of his Star Generals aren't exactly powerhouses here. They're support specialists. Well, so is Xinjie, but she's the Knowledge Star. ... You do realize that the risk is like insanely high, yeah? Just keeping things in perspective. And okay, I know the novel ends with the best ending possible, Su Xing is a badass, and he will succeed... but not the point. I like to kerp things focused only on what's in front of me. Actually... I'm a bit confused about something. How is Siyou supposed to help if she already has her Star Beast and only one pair at a time can enter...
Who said that Siyou had to enter with Su Xing? If anything, Siyou would just enter on her own and regroup with Su Xing later. That being said, I don't think Siyou is going to enter. Plus, Su Xing might make more than eight trips in actuality

1. Very True. Very true. Though, I think the Han Yu/Bao Xiaoyu and Chise Sakura/Manxiang pairs are more likely than Zhao Hanyan and the Immortal Heto Princess. Either way... it's actually pretty likely for Su Xing to make more than eight trips...yay. 2. I love this line: [“Since you are willing to believe in me, it’s only eight times. Even if it was eighteen times, I would go do it.” Su Xing’s expression was tender, making them feel at ease.] The level of badass MC/swag power is overwhelming! 3. That just leaves the Most High Path and the Black Turtle Territory to deal with... assuming the Vermillion Bird Territory's Star Master won't try something.... Let's face it. This Evil Smiting Hall arc has A LOT of enemies for Su Xing. And one of them(Bing Qinxuan) is shady as hell too!

....That's pretty freaking close to very end of the series too! Bing Qingxuan is definitely a persistent villain. Hey, Qingying's "Sister"... just to clarify. Is she one of Su Xing's? Or is she Contracted? Independent? I have a guess... but I feel like I'm missing something. The Little Sister isn't #80, is she?
Bing Qingxuan is able to manipulate a lot of things from behind the scenes. The sword he just stole from Xu Wangchuan is only part of a set that the old lady also possesses a piece of (you can guess where things are going). Spoiler: As for the little sister

I'm gonna assume yes cuz of the spoiler tag... and my own illiteracy with emojis...ugh. Ah, but as for how I came to that guess? These points: 1. Their true names seem... to match in a weird kinda family way. 2. Their nicknames and Stars kinda reminded me of each other somehow. 3. Her lack of skill you mentioned. That related to why I thought it was her, at least when I think about #24's nature we've seen and #80 as noted in point 2. It's just a guess, but I think it has logic.
For sure, the names are a dead giveaway. Plus, if you read through the actual The Water Margin, you'll find out that the original characters are actual brothers.
1. Yeah, there are quite a few links to the Water Margin. I never actually read it, but I am familiar with it, and what I do know, plus stuff that gets outright spilled in the WN matches... Eg: - Wu Song's Star Beast. - Chai Ling's Star Weapon. Then there's the author's foreshadowing habit... - Song Jiang and you know who - Xiao'er and Gongsun's identities were practically given away by either their intro wirding or Skills. - Tang Lianxin seems so obvious that I feel like a dumbass for not noticing it right away... I felt so stupid after thinking about it. She was just so obvious that I think I dismissed it because it looked so obvious... 2. Shi Yuan is too cute! And her S tr ar Beast being a 3 eyed rabbit is... weirdly appropriate! [“En.” Shi Yuan intimately pulled up against Su Xing’s arm, extremely content, nearly forgetting the objective of coming to Evil Smiting Hall.] ...Dddaaaawwww.....!!! I love how hknest she is. 3. Tbh, I was kinda thinking out loud with this question. It just struck me as kinda telling that neither in story or in the forums/comments that the topic never came up. All folks know is that Liangshan's 9th Star Duels are its last. I'm just curious why it never ocurred to anyone to end them sooner...y'know?
Because Maiden mountain can't be fought by a single star alone. Remember those girls who saw Su Xing in the prologue? Guess they were thr guardians of Maiden Mountain. And the current 108 is probably the reincarnation of the past gen.
Okay, but I meant the Overlords of past Star Duels. They're supposed to get a wish granted if they win, right? And considering some of the ridiculous world breaking crap Maiden Mountain can and does pull... Wishing to end the Star Duels can't be that hard to grant. It's just...8 Star Duels later and still growing strong. But maybe having your wish granted is conditional even if you win...
Wasn't the requirement to be a contracted one so you could grant a wish? Also there could be a situation where in order to stop it. They need to defeat the last hidden bosses!
