Discussion Ainz is really heartless this season

Dang, just watched Ainz dealing with the Workers. And damn, he's heartless. Yet, I can't really get angry at him since I understand he can't do thing halfass

 

It's mostly the automatic emotion suppressing skill or whatever that should be related to being a Lich or some such thing. In the manga he laughs at something and then halfway through he stops 'oh damn, the emotional suppressing effect kicked in again'.

Kind of like in The Gamer where he has Gamer's mind, that calms in in all situations and allows rational choices, except he has one where he even loses most of his 'humanity' all together.

 

In the novel? (not sure LN or WN) he realizes he has become more apathetic towards humans and living things in general, he still has his whole slapstick routine about taking over the world and not realizing it but he slowly realizes hes losing his humanity, I hope the author covers it more but with all the english licensing stuff going on who knows when we will be able to read it.

 

Welcome to reality, Ainz is a villain with emotion restrictions, plus he admit that he is not a human ever since S1 Ep 1.

 

He simply hates the workers because they are invading and robbing that one place he holds more important than anything else, Nazarick. So, its his innate desire to destroy them. Mostly, he would consider forgiving someone if he took liking to them or had a "rare" attribute or was worth keeping to improve his NPCs.
Edit: In novel it was mentioned somewhere he couldn't refuse this plan of Demiurge cause it was the best plan available and ended up taking out his frustration on those poor lambs.

But as the saying goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely. He is moving more and more away from his old self, partly because he isn't human anymore and partly due to crowd mentality.

The only ones I really felt bad for so far were those two little sisters, but since Ainz couldn't realistically know about them there's not much I can complain.

Looking forward to the war tho, anime slaughter is always welcome.

Can't really say he is heartless, he gave them a chance to explain why they were willing to rob a Grave, and the only Answer they gave was Money.
So yeah, especially since it was their own fault that their death is now going to be really awefull (though its not shown in the anime), since they lied to him.

Reading the reactions of people thinking this was supposed to be like Isekai Maou is the best part really.

Papa bones literally wanted the genocide of lizardmen just to test out Nazarick NPC AI and then use them as summoning fodder. The only reason why some of them are alive is because he gave them to Cocytus as toys instead.

Yeah, been a long ass time since i read the first parts of the story, but imo Ainz have always been kinda indifferent to others suffering, as long as they wasnt one of his npcs.
