    This is the registration thread for the continuation of the Carcossa Blood Moon Role Playing Game.

    After the devastation of Rye Town by the spirits, the fief's capital Fort Town became the scene of a three day and three night war between the Territorial Lord, Earl Perseus AlGol and the resident Witch Covens, after he contacted the church and they jointly called for an inquisition against heresy, specifically a hunt for witches. They struck the women unprepared, though many commoner women, young and old, perished as well. A week had passed since the Blood Moon, and tonight the blood would be on the streets.

    Rules:
    • Posts in the thread may be only In Character (IC), unless the Out Of Character (OOC) content is separated from the rest of the post by tags. Both IC and OOC posts must be made in this thread.

    • To participate, you must have an approved character in the format specified by the registration thread in your signature.

    • IC content of posts should be no less than 100 words, and no more than 500 words, unless at least two players are interacting, which adds a bonus 250 words to the maximum.

    • Double posting is not allowed.

    • The goal of the game is to survive the witch hunt and help your coven achieve its goals.

    • One irl day equals 2 IC hours. The game starts during early evening on the first IC day.

    • An NPC is provided to be used by all players : the Witch Hunter. The Witch Hunter is an extremely powerful individual, thus cannot be defeated until the end of the game. Any encounter with the Witch Hunter will result in a player character either running away, or getting injured. Each player must move the witch hunter to any location of their choice per movement rules, with that location being specified at the end of their post. Any characters at that location will encounter the Witch Hunter, if they post next. Any location containing the witch hunter will not provide score, until he moves away.

    • If a character encounters the Witch Hunter for two posts, or two or more characters encounter the Witch Hunter simultaneously, he cannot be moved for the following two posts. After that duration has passed, the Witch Hunter can be moved again, regardless of encounters.

    • Players who participated in the previous Mini-RP in the series can summon their spirit character through their witch. The spirit will the be able to manifest and act as a second character. Spirits can complete missions, but cannot contest territory on their own. Spirits are significantly less powerful outside their domain, and manifest only through the aid of a caster, however they are still more powerful than most commoners and guards, but not the Witch Hunter.

    • This game has a win condition; within one month all posts will be scored, based on their total amount, with an additive multiplier for each other character a player's character interacts with per individual post (+ 1 point for every interaction with another player character, per post). The winners will be the top 3.

    • Victory cannot be achieved without controlling territory. To control territory, characters of your faction must stay a total of two consecutive posts in an area. After leaving the area, control is reset, unless otherwise stated by mission rewards. Posts must contain the name of the location in a format, such as “Craftsmen, North”, or “Market West” All witches (player characters) of a certain coven should dominate an area by their post score. The areas are marked on the map.

    • Missions are specified below which give bonus points when completed, regardless of success or failure. A mission can only be completed on controlled territory. Notify a staff member (@BB_Tensei) when you have completed a mission.

    • Successful missions allow the player who completed them to use their rewards once per post.

    • Failed missions can no longer be undertaken by any player and provide no further reward.

    Patch rules:


    • All characters can only move to 1 adjacent area per post;
    • When engaged in combat, you cannot move in the same post;
    • Attacking a player character prevents them from moving next post, but cannot be ambushed again until the player makes 2 more posts after the attack. All characters of one player in the same area are affected by this rule;
    • The above rule is also true of the Witch Hunter encounter;
    • Characters now have a limited number of abilities. A character may have 3 tier 1 abilities, and 2 tier 2 abilities. The ability format is specified in the Registration Form in the Registration Thread.
    • Abilities are to be set in two tiers; tier 1 is capable of affecting common NPCs, tier 2 can prevent a major NPC from harming your character;
    • Tier 1 abilities have a limit of 3 total uses, Tier 2 abilities have a limit of 1 total uses.
    • 2 consecutive posts in a single area without completing a mission or entering combat will recharge 2 uses total;
    • This limit applies to all characters of a single player collectively.
    • If you have no spells available to prevent harm to your character, they suffer a permanent wound and lose one use out of the total;
    • Missions may only be started after obtaining them from a collaborator NPC in a Slum or Merchant area;
    • Spells recharge upon the end of a cycle (2 ingame hours)
    • Completing a mission requires 2 posts per player at the same location consecutively.
    • Items can be used instead of an ability. To use an item you must obtain or craft it for 2 posts (initiate crafting; outcome);
    • Items are held in the inventory and are crossed out after use;
    • Items can be recharged instead of an ability per the same rule;
    • The GM is free to change the rules at any time. Rule changes will be announced and this post updated;

    Tool of the Trade: (Here goes an item representing your character as a spellcaster. These include wands, grimoires, staves, bangles, bells, magical scarves, gems, crystals and crystal balls, smudge sticks, lanterns, shrunken heads, etc. Keep it consistent with the coven of your choice.)

    Witch Coven: (There are seven covens operating in Fort Town:

    • The Sisterhood of the Sacred Flame: Witches of fire and shadows, they uphold a tradition as ancient as civilization itself. Before the witch hunt began, they were the most numerous in Fort Town, but many sisters perished in the first day. Being the most passionate of all seven covens, their goal is to find and punish those who participated in the hunts, destroying the Witch Hunter's support, and eventually killing him. All witches of this coven wear a an article of red clothing or accessory.

    • The Prodigal Daughters of the Sky Mother: Witches of Spirit and Air, they are nomadic and shamanistic in nature. Their tradition is to be loremasters, and to experience new things. The Daughters' goal is to see and record everything that happened, and help all witches escape, or else guide their souls to the afterlife safely. Can be identified by ritual tattoos, though those are often hidden.

    • The Temple of the Earth Mother: Witches chosen by the Earth Mother receive a gift of fertility, and the ability to give life to all beings of the land. Their goal is to prevent death as much as possible, and heal those hurt by the mad men and women fighting in the witch hunt. Witches of this coven possess a particularly high charm toward men, women, animals, and especially creatures of the night.

    • The Fountain of Eternal Youth Coven: Witches of Alchemy and Divination, they seek immortality, and to prevent disaster. A very isolated group, they are mostly engaged in study, thus were caught unaware by the witch hunt. The leader of the coven brings with her a hereditary gift as seer, which wanes, as her daughter grows up toward puberty. The little girl was taken away by the inquisitors, and resides in the castle's dungeon. The coven's goal is to save her, and evacuate her out of Fort Town. They are often part of a strict witch family, and go to war in velvet and purple witch uniforms.

    • The Right Hand Path: A secret order of witches, who hide under the guise of nuns. They believe that God is the source of their gift, and seek to change society from the inside. During the witch hunt, they are the only ones who were not persecuted. Their goal is to bring peace between the people and the witches, and will act to mislead or sabotage the Witch Hunter and the inquisition. The Right Hand Path are well connected in the city, and have agents even in the Castle.

    • The Shadow Maidens: Followers of the Dark Lord, the Shadow Maidens contract with demons, and seek the destruction of mankind. Most are not right in the head, and often carry signs of demonic mutation. After the Blood Moon, many of these witches became active and hid inside Fort Town, to prepare it as a sacrifice to the Dark Lord.

    • The Virginal Brides: A coven of vampiric witches. They have all the traits of vampires, and are capable of glamour and blood magic. Common among the aristocracy, the rich, and the artistic. The coven decided to secretly cooperate with the witch hunt, in order to preserve their positions, and remove competition. They are weak to sunlight, therefore often carry accessories and clothing which protects from the Sun, which doubles as a witch wand or other type of tool.
    The type of coven will affect what spells you use, and has to be reflected in appearance.)

    Roleplaying on forums, otherwise known as play-by-post roleplaying games, is basically collaborative fiction. You agree on rules, setting, and conventions, then write a story together. You make one or more characters, depending on the thread rules, then write what they do as a story, without writing other people's characters (and vice versa, only you can control what a character or characters you made does or do, thus nobody can cause your character to do anything).

    On NUF, there are litRPG style RPs that also have classes, stats, skills, and etc as rules (for example Monster Raider). These still function the same way, but have more traditional tabletop style mechanics, usually. This one is more freeform.

    Tool of the Trade: Mask Of The Revenant - A mask that was worn by a knight who discovered magic in antic times, it is now used as a medium for Inpes to use her spells

    Personal Goal: Become (Inpes or the Sisterhood of the Sacred Flame) the symbol of hope of the new world after the many disasters to come.

    Spirit Name: Alacris
    Spirit's Appearance: Before dying, Alayer was middle-aged man in his thirties, black haired and blue-eyed, quite slim however was muscled enough. He was a knight who organised the assassination of his Kingdom's King in order to solidify the links between humans. He thought that mankind couldn't cooperate and live together as long as they aren't in a desperate situation
    Nevertheless, he failed and died, supposed to be executed publicly, but, with a smile saying that he had no regrets and threw himself in the fire.

    Today, he is only the shadow of what he is. A mere fog of non-existence. That's it. As a spirit, he doesn't even have a humanoid shape, no, he is literally a fog.

    Simulacrum: A cracked set of armor from toes to helmet.

    Personal Goal: Plunge the world into a disaster in order to reform mankind.

    Elemental Affinity: Shadow

    Confirmed, add some kind of red article of clothing or accessory when describing your witch IC. These will be used ingame to help other witches to recognize her.

    Effect: The user manipulates the wind whether to protect themselves or kill via suffocation or just change the composition of the air around them.

    Effect: The simulacrum is used to perform a ritual that amplifies the strength of the less guilty participant.

    Name: Swordstrike
    Tier: 1
    Effect: THe wind gathers around her sword and then is flung off in a direction as if it was the sword dissapears after it hits something. When it hits a being it can pull out their soul so that Adrestia can talk to them if they are not resisting her. Further it can summon a dead bodies soul no matter what.

    Name: Enhanced hearing
    Tier: 1
    Effect: The hearing of Adrestia is capable of covering the entire city however she becomes frozen in place.

    Name: Weight reduction
    Tier: 1
    Effect: Uses the wind to aid in movement of her body which allows for her to travel faster and get to the roof of buildings far easier than most as well as for fairly silent movement.

    Witch's Name: Ira

    Witch's Appearance: A 15 years old girl with dark skin and short white hair. White tattoos cover her body but it is unseen due to her clothes. She wears simple black long sleeved shirt, black trousers, red scarf, and huge hooded white cloak. Because of her underdeveloped body, short hair, and preference of wearing men's clothes for ease of movements, she is always mistaken for a beautiful boy. The blue feather accessory on her hair are actually quills she uses for writing.

    Tool of the Trade: A huge magical parchment scroll slung across her back. It's as tall as she is. Ira sometimes uses it as a club to bash the heads of offenders. The parchment paper is invunerable to physical attacks so Ira uses it to shield herself. She also uses this scroll like a broom to fly.

    Witch's Appearance: Small light blue haired girl with white eyes. She is dressed in dark purple garments, besides a white skirt.

    Tool of the Trade: Three black raven familiars. The number of ravens grows proportionate to her power, and they give her the sight her body lacks.

    Personal Goal: Heal her eyes and go on adventure.

    Note: Luciela is a GM character, as such she has a story purpose as the missing daughter of the coven mistress.


    Registration confirmed! Wait, what do you mean she can't score? She starts out in the castle dungeon? Cannot move until her mission is complete? What gives, GM?
