So I decided to start reading this story. And it's a @Lovely mix of fluff and humor, with a dollop of the heavier background issues on top to add weight. Indeed, we see the familiar otome game plot line of the issue of aristocracy, but handled with significantly more nuance than usual; things like changing economic and military roles are forcing social and political questions to the fore, just like they have throughout history. Even the love is heavy at times, bringing up deeper questions about insecurities, sexuality, and social norms. It's a great story and I thoroughly recommend it to you all! The main reason I decided to make the thread was because I saw @AliceShiki posting in the comments, so I would be remiss if I didn't mention her as well.
Oooooooooooh, glad to see Arc-chan reads it too! \(^^)/ Latest chapters have been soooooooo lovely, I'm glad Claire-sama is trying to get closer to Rei-chan rn, she's probably thinking of a bunch of things about herself and her relationship with Rei-chan~ Why should I sleep at 8pm!? >.<
Any other good gl or otoge novels I should know about? I haven't been keeping up on translated novels and have been focusing on English originals for the past year or so.
Let's see... I was really liking Quit Entourage, and it was picked up by Wujigege just now... Didn't check his chapters yet though, and his quality is kind of a hit or miss. Villainess is fine alone is okay I guess? I mean, it has an interesting premise of the MC actually wanting to be a proper villainess for once, but that's about it for the charm of the novel... Still interesting. Lastly there is the Quadruplet Reincarnation that is a gender bender that maybe will turn into yuri maybe not. I'm really liking how the author is carefully developing each of the 4 sisters in their own unique way (MC is only one of the 4 in case it wasn't obvious). It's a slow-paced story, but a pretty good one I think. I'm enjoying it~ That's about it from me I guess, there were a few others but nothing very remarkable... Ah, if anything, I really loved the premise of Crushing the Destruction Flags Through Firepower, but I have yet to read the chapters, so I can't comment on it.
