Recently discovered this gem in my search for kingdom-building novels: Rise of the Lord (RR). I know I'm behind the times compared to many of y'all, but I just wanted ask what is everyone's thoughts on this novel and share some of mine. I know many people argue that this story focuses too much on schemes and calculations, but tbh I believe this is really what nobels should be doing/thinking about all day long. It's also different which is a breath of fresh air. I also like the fact that MC isn't someone reborn with either knowledge of the future or modern times or someone with OP powers/golden finger/etc. He solely uses his wit to outmaneuver his enemies which he's sharpened due to the circumstances that he's grown up in living with the enemy Duke and his sons. This sentence is one that I find really fitting for his situation: So these are the reasons why I like the story. However, these are just my personal thoughts. What about you guys? Too many schemes and backstabbings? Not enough action or technology for you? Or is it just boring overall? Please be civil and let's chat about it!
