Let myself correct a little about Pale Rider. Since Van knew about Earth's myth about the Pale Rider he feared that since he took the job he may have a passive that make him realease diseases (kinda like the time with Zombie Maker that Kari pointed out), but since that was not the case he did not have to isolate himself afterwards.

I thought he did drown in the stew (but didn't get burnt because of the amulets)

And no respect from me towards anyone from Amid Empire/Brainless, Punywood worshiper from yours truly.

 

Yeah, considering not just [Zombie Maker], but also [Death-Attribute Mage], [Corpse Demon Commander], [Demon King], a lot of his [Guidance] skills, etc. caused Van to do one or two things unintentionally, only for him to then get them completely under his control, I doubt we'll be hearing about Van being worried about doing anything due to [Pale Rider] again. Still cute to know he's self-conscious about his powers going a bit out of control with each new job.

 

But at least he died doing what he loved, eating stew.

 

Looking at Vans stats now makes me realise how weak Heinz is/was. This is from V4 when he had just become an S rank and Van was only 8

 

To be fair, while he definitely weaker than Scheider (the only S class who actually have a stat page) by world standards he is stupid strong, (all together now) but then there is Van.

 

That is the golden rule of Death Mage, "And then there is Van"

 

Rule one of death mage, never judge van with common sense (regardless of the world your on)

 

Van rejects Alda's reality and substitute his own.

 

He rejects reality itself to a degree (hence the dream guider) not just aldas view of it.

 

Reality is just a matter of perspective really.

Considering that Schna is working with Blessings (Vida and I assume Van too) now, he should be much more stronger right now. This is the guy who suddenly found himself fighting freaking dragons after what he calls "a couple of years", and that was with no cheats (blessings).

I know, right!
