There's some fun YouTube videos out there. Like, I've seen people serious discuss what an appropriate weapon would be for various "standard" fantasy races based on the laws of physics and what makes sense in context. If you have a significant strength and size advantage, then a big club is not actually that bad a weapon choice, apparently. If you're average size and have a lot of strength I'm not sure if it makes as much sense though, since things like inertia, height and reach make a big difference.

Anyway, since Van already has transformation armour, maybe we could see transforming weapons as well. Imagine a lump of orichalcum that can transform between various weapons forms - eg polearm, shield, hammer, axe, sword etc.

I imagine that depending on the size of the weapon it transform into you might get some small amount of protective gear so that the materials get used even if it's a smaller weapon.

Like going from a 2h sword to a short sword with buckled/gauntlet or something like that?

I can only imagine it being incorporated into a magic transformation staff so normally it looks like a suit or some clothes, then it transforms into powerranger like armour, then pieces of armour get thinner to make weapons for the user.

Yeah because it still need materials to take form and it won't just appear or disappear so it needs to go somewhere like a great sword becoming a one handed sword all the excessive material needs to go somewhere and protective gear would be the most logical and useful.

And that is how the legend of a certain shild wielding hero started....

I remember seeing something like that before but don't remember where.

Just a suggestion but couldn't it get denser instead? But yeah allocating the material elsewhere would be more efficient.

I love the notion of using a loaded gun as a sickle or blunt weapon (or boomerang?). Even funnier is that guns on Lambda are probably more effective when used unconventionally.

Do you know what's more dangerous than jemini? Drones. Drones trump all. :blobowoevil:

I am unsure if Van can make it efficient enough or if the weight might mess up the the wielders form when using it.

True and I think he said sometime that he couldn't make it denser anyway (why it isn't fullbody armour)

Knowing what I know now, jemini may just use an angry glare as weapon, drop them and use them as gauntlets.:blobexpressionless:

He said that conservation of mass still applied which is why he used death iron threads (strong, light and possible to make smaller. malleable bundles) to make the transformation gear.

EDIT: Hmmm, would not it be possible to make pebble sized death iron thread bundle that explosively expand to make razor wire bombs?

I thought it was so he had more surface area to inscribe various magic circuits on it as well?

That's why he adds frills, actually.

Ok thanks, but I thought it was on the thread used? Instead of the fabric?

    Edit

Or is the fabric like paper? A thin plane that you can inscribe as much as you want (given the surface area)

It is in the thread, but since he still needed even more surface (at the start anyway) he added frills, or at least that is his excuse:blobsmilehappyeyes:

So, are the frills made from thread or are they just very thin pieces of metal?

Thread and metal are not mutually exclusive. You can make metal threads. Not the most comfortable, though.

Yes, the whole suit is. Initially it is a wand/morpher/belt/whatever (the bundle of threads) then it transform into a suit via voice activation.
