For those who want to start the series, it was not quite published right onto NU. The order you should read them is as follows (Ending, Prologue, Chapter 1). Edit: The NU page has been fixed and this post is now irrelevant.
The story takes place in the western part of the United States in the year 1906 around the end of the cowboy era. The chapter refers to the fact that they are attempting to track down a girl who is half native-american because of the bounty on her head. The novel has not shown any signs of it being racist towards native-americans.
I just realized with this chapter that all of the characters are named after 20th century musicians. You would think that I would catch up on that fact sooner.
