"Alright then.", Gaap cleared his throat and called out to Pierre, rather loudly as well.
"Hey Pierre, can you get us chicken pastries? For two people!"

"It will prolly take some time, like some dozens of minutes.", Gaap said then asked to Lykke on a rather curious tone.
"Where did you hear about pancakes? I am rather curious, been two dozens of years since I ate one, I think."

 

"Um..my mother makes them sometimes...", the girl said rather confused and looked strangely at Gaap.
"Though... most people commonly call them for flatcakes, some even call them soft or sweet panbread too. My father said, almost no one call it for pancakes in his younger times..."

 

Ah, Zoan-san, I forgot to give you this! *gives 10 Large Copper Coins*

"Ah...", Gaap was agape for a few minutes, so, all this time, it was just a problem of name? Flatcakes or soft panbread... If he knew at least one of these appellation, he wouldn't have waited for more than twenty years.

"I see... I feel quite stupid now, here I thought there was none here...", a sigh escaped from his mouth, better late than never he supposed?

"Well, at least, I know now..! I will need a long sleep to digest that however.", sleeping, it always ended up with sleeping.
Then, the receptionist saw the plates coming. Well, there were mort much to say, there was just one pasty on each of the plate, almost as long as his forearm.

"W..well, there are other places that probably still call the flatcakes for pancakes...", since the man in front of her and her mother does that too.

When the waiter arrived with the dishes, Lykke secretly ordered for some pancakes and paid the him while Gaap mumbled something.

Then Lykke took a bite of her food, trying act normally. "Oh... the filling is quite great."

 

"Oh, it's been quite a while since I met one of my kin! I never saw you in the Village though, where are you from?"

 

"Well then... I unfortunately never went to these places...", before eating, he paid the plates and handed some coins to Pierre.

"Anyway, now that I know that, I will be able to eat pancakes once again I suppose... Well, I will order that once we are finished with this meal.", Gaap said and finally took a bit.

"Aah, as good as ever. Indeed, glad that you like it~", the receptionist seemed to relax as he was eating.

 

"It's nothing like flatcakes though..." Mumbles Lykke, thinking of how Gaap described the Chicken Pastry.

Soon after, the waiter came back and places two plates of pancakes on the table, somehow timed it just as the two was done.

Lykke glaces at Gaap, wondering how he like the new arrived dessert.

 

As Grendel entered the tavern, he is suddenly greeted by a small oni girl.

"Hello there, jou-chan. I used to live in the eastern part of the continent with my father before coming here. You may have heard it back at the counter, but I'm Grendel. What's your name?", he replied while making his way to an empty seat.

 

"I am Rei, 19 years old, from Murakamo village Near Ternus.
Nice to meet you Grendel.
What are you doing in Nagrand, registering as an adventurer?"

 

"Well, you see, I 'm on a journey to train myself further, so I searched for a job that heavily involves fighting. At first, I tried being a mercenary, but it doesn't suit me well, so I thought I'd try being an adventurer" replied Grendel.

He then called out to the bartender, "I'd like an ale, please" before turning to the girl again.

"What about you? I heard it's quite rare for an oni to travel out of their village, not to mention a juvenile oni like you"

 

"Ah, well I am not actually that young but that is a long story.
Why I left? Isn't that obvious?
I was the strongest of my generation so I left to find stronger enemies and hone my martial arts before I died from boredom.
I worked as a Mercenary and a bodyguard sometimes to cover the traveling fees.
Not long ago, I found myself in a predicament where I couldn't work like that anymore and needed information about a certain matter, so I joined the adventures guild where I can find both."

 

"You're the strongest one in your village? Now that's interesting. Judging from your attire, I take it you're a martial artist of some sort? I'd like to have a spar with you sometime"

 

((When two muscleheads meet...))

 

"Yes, I am mostly a specialist of hand-to-hand combat.
A spar? That sounds great, but you would have to wait. I have an appointment to teach Ki to a Lamia and I promised Jack a duel with him first. Speaking of which, I am late to the appointment! See you around Grendel!"
Rei stood up and ran off towards the guild entrance.

Grendel then proceeds to drink the ale he ordered, left some coins, and left the tavern to do some quests
