    They could probably reconstruct with modern technology and materials (based on photos or blueprints etc) but even if it’s copied brick by brick- it will never be the “original”.

    As a french, what is currently happening is insane. My family which is Christian is freaking out. This event is as shocking as a terrorist attack for not only the catholique but also every one else.

    I see lots of scaffolding probably some live wires got damaged resulting in the fire.

    As insensitive as it is, its too early for jokes at the moment. I would liken this loss as a grieving moment for a lot of people.

    "Ship of Theseus" The logic of fundamentally replacing/restoring the parts or entirety of an object, makes it either the same or different.
