Personally speaking, I'd say this tag is absolutely useless, but... Well, people seem to care about all kind of random characteristics of the MC (like if they use glasses or not... >.>), so... I guess it can be added if someone wants to?

Last time I used the exclude tags feature the yaoi tag is not there, shounen ai is present though. That was a few weeks ago.

    Genre. Not tag, genre.

You're looking at the wrong section, I even linked them to you.

I'll just answer this anyway in case anyone comes looking and wondering about the same thing.

You click/tap ONCE1 at the check boxes, it'll be GREEN✓, indicating the genre must be INCLUDED.

You click/tap TWICE2 at the check boxes, it'll be RED-, indicating the genre must be EXCLUDED.

So there's this novel that's tagged harem and I'm not sure if the tag belongs.
    1. There is a clear male lead. As in the FL and ML get married, have kids, and live happily ever after.
    2. But... there are also two other guys pining after the FL.
    Is this harem?

without knowing/reading the novel, it is hard to tell. "two other guys pining after the FL" is too vague.

what i can tell you is, don't mistake Harem as a Genre with Polygamy as a tag., nor 'Harem ending' . Harem as genre ignores relationship 'ties'. a character can end up in monogamous ties but the story is still labelled harem (genre). Or, the character ends up in polygamy, but the story isn't a harem (genre)

Cant we add harem end tag cause i read many harem novels and by the end the MC ended with one girl or two series should tagged harem when MC ended with at least 3 girls

We have a polygamy tag which means the Mg basically ends up with all the girls. Although many novels which deserve the tag aren't probably tagged with it

The harem tag is less about whether or not the MC ends up with one or more partners, but more about how the MC is simultaneously involved with multiple partners for significant parts of the series.

I would like to suggest a revision to the tagging of what could be called 'isekai' novels.

Right now, there are numerous varied tags that all relate to isekai: Reincarnated to Another World, Returning from Another World, Summoned Hero, Transmigration, Transported to Another World, World Hopping, etc. Unfortunately, most of these are specific to certain subsets of isekai, like with reincarnation vs Transmigration or with game world vs alternate world. There is no existing tag or genre that pertains to all of them. This makes it rather difficult to do a general 'Series Finder' search for isekai novels.

Therefore, I would like to propose a few different possible options to remedy this:
    1. Create a general "isekai" tag. Its definition would have to clarify that the MC or other relevant character, at bare minimum, has memories/values of a different world than the one that they're currently residing within. Ideally, the definition would also separate the Novel from the wuxia, xianxia, and xuanhuan genres, but that may be tricky.
    2. Make an "isekai" genre. Since isekai novels can include many varied settings for alternate worlds(historical/modern time period, (non)existence of magic, etc.) The genres of Fantasy, Historical, and such won't always be applicable to every isekai novel.

Why don't you just search for all the "other world" related tags if you want any generic isekai? Seems redundant to add a new tag/genre just for that.

Because I don't know if I thought of all of them when I do the search.Plus, there are some novels that may not have any of them. Lastly, because it is riduculous to have to enter in 5+ search terms JUST for a single genre of a book.

I block the ntr tag for a reason, and it seems like someone recently went through and replaced the NTR tag with the adultery tag on a couple novels >.>

I understand there is some overlap there, but they do not mean the same thing.
