Nope, I really really doubt we'll see Mei break souls. Or at least, not any time soon.

The author is stressing the difference to basically undercut Rokudou's ego. He has a lot of pride and sees himself as a greatest individual and basically a god. Yet he can't do what a 3 year old girl can do. He thought he was complete and perfect as a death mage but he's not. That's why the chapter is named the way it is.

Side note: wondering why Rokudou won't teleport away. Pride? Too wound up to think properly? Seems to be a bit of both.

Another side note: Was kinda expecting Bander to do more here, but he seemed content to play more of a support role.

 

True, but if he dies he gets taken away and comes to lambda. remember all their souls go straight to him after death unless so outside force intervenes. He got away once by using his one system, but that worked only because he had a body ready. without another system in place and no body he's a free soul up for the taking. there's a very small window to brake his soul and i don't see how Van get to him in time.

But your probably right as i said to just a crazy theory i don't really believe that were it will go. How ever you cant say it want be fun to watch how her father and mother will react if they see her break a soul. I know they love her and don't hate DA users in general but watching a soul break will have fun story potential.

Light Translation for SS 57

Name changes:
Ulrica -> Ulrika. Because I searched for Ulrica and got nothing like names, Ulricka also didn’t return anything big, while Ulrika did, so I’m keeping that. The name is in Katakana too, so there is no doubt. Also thanks Loki for confirming this is actually a name.
Yazaki -> Shizaki (矢崎). Because now I found out she is female now, Yazaki didn’t really look like a good name, so looking for other good possibilities, I went with this one, another good possibility was Shiki.
Nabeshima -> Katou (鍋島). Since I was checking for possible names for the above person, I went to check on him, and Katou looked much better than Nabeshima.
Nishikage Yoshihiko -> Muragaka Yoshihiko (西鏡義彦), google translator even changed the romaji for it now, so I went to check on the possibilities, and considering the second kanji for his surname is Mirror, I went with something using kaga.
Sugiura Shichiya -> Sugiura Nanaya (杉浦七夜). Although I kinda got used with Shichiya, Nanaya... Well, I think it's easier to find this one other than that one. Since it's the Kanji for seven, similar to Nanamori.

However Banda arrives in the middle of the moment and asks if they shouldn’t go after Rokudou.

Amemiya could only watch that with a bitter smile, Hiroshi’s defense transformation equipment has excellent cold resistance, so he was able to take on Ymir’s fight with no problems from Bokor. Mari adds that he had no more chances to use it, so he has no proficiency, and in missions related to undead were always given to others, she (Who was most likely giving orders as Avalon at the time) understood that Avalon was probably avoiding Amemiya learning a trump card against him in the future.

In the past he could only use it around his hand, but now it was a proper melee weapon, Amemiya himself recognizes that he was only able to use it like this thanks to the stability given by the suit. He shakes the sword and cuts the black flame whip. Rokudou compliments Amemiya for also studying during this time, but he won’t win if he thinks he is just at this level. Rokudou kept on using other death spells on him, and every time Amemiya defended himself, a little of his magic was being scraped off.

Rokudou is surprised, it was a pitfall, the hole created by Mei took over all the lower body of Rokudou, leaving his upper body exposed, and collapsing his stance, Amemiya took the opening to approach, while telling Rokudou how amazing his children are. He extends his sword at the head of Rokudou, who seeing his situation getting worse, asks when was it that they let a monster works as a tutor to them, but Amemiya could only reply that even he doesn’t know about that. Rokudou used a Barrier to defend himself, but the anti-death sword was going through easily, the barrier could only hide rather than protect him.

Before, in regards to martial skills, both Avalon and Amemiya were equal, now as Arch Avalon he should be superior, but with his lower body stuck in a hole, he can’t deal with it anymore, they are not deadly, but Amemiya has inflicted many wounds on Avalon. As he agonized, the wound was actually much shallower than the one made by Hiroshi’s Magic Bullet, but there was pain, and blue blood wouldn’t stop flowing. Because the body was made to be suitable for Death Attribute, it too ended up being weak against Amemiya’s Life Bright Sword.

Moriya calls for Rokudou, but he himself is busy with Derrick, and if he leaves, Derrick will win. Katou of Knight uses his armor of Space Attribute to distort Iwao’s gun and magic, but then he found an opening and created a giant hammer of gravity that couldn’t be dealt with, and Knight stopped moving. Narumi can’t let her children do more than herself, against the huge bullets from Shizaki of Issun-boshi, she can keep herself safe with a wall created with magic, Shizaki gives the cliche that he didn’t like her from long ago, she threw a small stone and tried to make it big to crush her, but Narumi read the tactic and protected herself.

Knight has a weakness in regards to the Characteristics/Attributes that are used against him, and Issunbosshi can only enlarge the object, so the strategy to defend against it doesn’t always change just because of the size. Of course, they are still some of the strongest in Bravers, and even with weaknesses, one can grow to compensate it, but the same works too for Iwao and Narumi, and while Katou have Death Attribute given by Rokudou, Narumi and Iwao are protected and supported by Banda’s device, and with its high performance, the situation was leaning towards the Bravers. Shaman could only shout that the Amemiyas were all monsters, although he looks to be the only one not in combat, he is actually controlling 3 Ghosts, but Ifrit and Charon can’t move because they are fighting against Joseph and Yodo, And Ymir is being punched hard by Hiroshi.

“Kono! Kono! Kono!”

The plan was for the Bravers to be divided and isolated, then defeated by Rokudou once he arrived, even if he failed with Amemiya, they would still be far away from each other, however, then a monster started flying all around with a large van and collecting all of them, meanwhile, his hands, Balor, Sleipnir, Ares, Artemis, Sahadeva, and just now Copy had all died.

Even the experiments who were used as a disposable force, there is a traitor and starts killing from his side, don’t even need to talk about the undead at this point, rather than defeat each braver, he was defeated instead, and now there is not enough support, however, such basic stats, because he was intoxicated by his revival as Arch Avalon, he thought he was omnipotent, and with the whole worship he got from Moriya and others, he had completely forgotten to keep everything in check. But that’s not his end, he shouts, that’s not all he can do! Around Mei, the spirits of the experiments, the collaborators who were just killed, even the guards who were abandoned, all of them appeared and were laughing at him, while they look pleased to help Mei, they are laughing at Rokudou who is her enemy, however, Rokudou can’t see them, nor hear them. He gets desperate, why can’t he control spirits? He has a magic comparable to the Undead and even greater control than him. Because Avalon can only “recognize” the spirits of the dead, like their position or number, he can’t perceive what they think, what they want, not even who they are, and it’s not like there is a problem with his body or magic, he doesn’t recognize the spirits as individual entities, nor does them want to be recognized by him., in terms of Lambda, he lacks the “Death Attribute Charm” skill just like Mari, and then, without knowing about it, he reincarnates into Arc Avalon.

Rokudou can’t understand why they don’t obey him, he can’t understand, “is it still incomplete!? This I, this Arch Avalon!?” He never thought his knowledge was incomplete. Amemiya is back, telling him that it seems there was a defect after all, he slashes a trembling Rokudou with no mercy, Rokudou tries to defend, but it’s useless, it strikes his cheeks next to the ear, and he screams in pain. The previous Avalon would just move his neck and evade the blade, or not use the attribute that he is not well suited with what his enemy is using, and use something better to regain posture, but nothing happened. Rokudou had aptitude for every attribute besides Life and Light (And obviously, Time as it doesn’t exist in Origin) and was skilled with them, but now he only has Death Attribute, instead of acquiring some sort of great magic and something unique not found in other attributes, he simply lost the aptitude of other attributes, and now he lost the flexibility and the means of coping with unexpected situations.

Again, Rokudou spits poison at Amemiya to free himself, Amemiya again distances himself, although the equipment helps him against Death Attribute to some extent, poison is not properly included, after all, in Lambda you can deal with it with resistance skills, as such, these improvements have been neglected.

Banda (?) calls Mei again, so she tells everyone to get up, and as the hands rise from the floor, Rokudou quickly kicks the floor again and jumps, but as he looks at her, he noticed, Amemiya is targeting him from the front, he was being distracted by his own imperfections and Mei, and noticed that Mari was gone, and then he noticed, somebody was near the space as him, Mari was camouflaged with the same color as the wall with Metamorph, he stops the shockwave of death, and with the fist holding Bloodshed Enhancement, “There!”, tries to hit Mari as she is surprised by being caught, the fist will decrease her vitality rapidly, even if she can change organs with Metamorph, she can’t heal fatal wounds, but the one to receive it. “Yes, I’m here”, was Banda, it wasn’t Mari who received the attack, but Banda who also camouflaged himself with DK’s Ink.

So Banda returns the attack, the 4 hands extend their claws and pierce the 2 shoulders and the back of both hands, with a pair of the spider legs, pierce his foots sewing him to the floor, as his screams are now lacking intensity, he looks at the other Banda (?) who has now turned into Mari, who was disguised with Metamorph, and on her arms is Mei, holding a Dark Red Jewel, Mari complains that it was hard to breath, and her back is hurting from the weird posture, it’s quite hard, “right Mama?” (The times when Banda (?) told Mei to act, it was Mari, calling her like Mei, but it was hard to talk while transformed in such a random form). But Mei argues that at least they were full of Nyoronyoro, and there were also many eyes, The fact that Mari changed into Banda, it was a strategy based on Rokudou thinking that Banda would not leave Mei, this way he could launch a surprise attack, and to achieve that, he turned into Mari and left a DK’s Crystal with the two so he could use Magic Transfer, as such he could keep several meters of distance from them, the fact that Rokudou could see the spirits that Banda asked to keep around Mei also helped. There was no end to this fight with Amemiya and Rokudou, he thought (?)

In any case, there is no way of escaping from Banda who can scrap steel like paper, and there are no reinforcements. Katou had his Mana exhausted thanks to Bokor, plus rapidly growing tumors, Shizaki is suffering from severe frostbite through her body thanks to Yukijoro who also defeated Ifrit, Moriya who was also exhausted of Mana had collapsed to the floor, the 3 are alive, but can’t move. Banda would instill fear to his soul, cancelling the death shockwaves he can then go to the main soul and break his soul, and it would all be over.

Rokudou can’t accept his defeat, he still tries to escape, when they thought he was rising his mana even more intensely than before, Rokudou tears everything from below his shoulders and knees and escapes from Banda.

Man, at this point,flags are being triggered, I’m starting to think that he may escape, although it could be that he would end up just going crazy after leaving the building and seeing Van by himself. But I can’t understand, how is he fleeing without his feet, like, he is less than a dwarf now, how the heck?

Well, so Banda knows about his weakness too, this was interesting, seems like he also found about the history from 8th Guidance here, it would be interesting if he were to say that they are with him.

Another thought I had was in regards to the reincarnation machine, is it still on? Could Avalon die, and rather than being caught up by Rod, he ends up in a loop? Or rather, turns into an undead for real like “I escaped being broken” and finds himself back in the same battlefield, just with a weaker body or something.

Avalon being all “This I” and “This Arch Avalon”, I question the size of his dick, and who made it, cause I’m sure he wanted it to be perfect, so did he make it himself, or did he got someone else to do it for him?

And the cliches, Shizaki going “I didn’t like you from the start”, I wonder if Densuke was lacking ideas, I kinda expected them to be more afraid of the whole situation, since they joined Rokudou and he is losing now.

The (?) parts are the ones I wasn't really sure of the meaning, I tried what I thought was the best option, but I'm not sure.

 

Ok, I stand corrected, it seems it was only my assumption. Though, what even 'higher form of the light attribute' means? Also Bellwood having Light attribute is given as Alda Chosen, but it does not mean he can not use other attributes, that logic only works for the death attribute.

 

I assume "higher form of the light attribute" means light attribute that has reach level 10 and awakened. Like no attribute magic into hollow king magic or death magic into dark king magic. Holy magic is probably a path light attribute can take when it awakens.

 

But Alda can't use the life attribute to its full potential.

Both Heinz and Hiroto discovered this secret counter to the death attribute. Heinz in Bellwood's trial dungeon, and Hiroto against the 8th Guidance.

IIRC, the narrator himself says that even Bellwood never figured it out, which is what makes Heinz so special for making this discovery.

Rodcorte made that rule after everyone was reborn on Origin, and I don't think he can enforce that rule until they return to him. I could be wrong, though.

 

If Bakacorte make improvement to the system .but its unlikely , why ? Because he bakacorte.

I dare say that from the flags triggered in this chapter, I wouldn't doubt that Avalon gets to escape and die without his soul being broken. However, here is the thing, in the comments it was kinda implied already, but Avalon can't be used by Rod, why? Cause if he sends Avalon to Lambda, he will make all the undead and immortality and stuff that Rod doesn't want.

However, at the same time, Rod wanted to be gone from Lambda, what he needs is exactly someone capable of destroying everything there, so what I think he could do, if Rod gets Avalon's soul, is keep him by his side, and eventually use the DK's soul he has and use them on Avalon's soul, releasing him on Lambda to kill all of Talosheim and allowing Rod to leave. This would also force the Angels to call someone to warn Van, although Rod will be vigilant of them.

The only reason I give props to this idea however is that it's the only way for Rod to be able to actually hit Van somehow, otherwise, Rod will be left weaponless, which could be annoying for the story

Zakkart only had Life magic. It's possible that souls from other systems (They were not from Rod's system) aren't the same or something? Because I would think that he would have used it even if by mistake if he were to have it. If he had worked with Zakkart they may even have been able to deal it, but Bellwood wouldn't do that.

Neither Light nor Life are "holy" enough by themselves. Think of it as Light and Life being a source of Energy, while Death is the end of all of it. You need both to achieve it, otherwise, no deal. It's quite interesting how weak is Death Magic in regards to Life+Light, I guess the reason Amemiya was so successful though was because even if the barrier were filled with HP, he couldn't absorb the magic that is not compatible, and Ignore Defense did the rest. If Heinz were to do it, without Ignore Defense, I would expect a full powered barrier to still be able to reasonably defend Van, since we know now that he is aware of it.

Hiroto seems to have been told about this weakness by Rokudou, but yes, it seems everyone is aware of this weakness in Origin. However, Heinz seems to not have noticed what he found, I mean, he doesn't know that Van has something called Death Magic, and I think neither Alda knows all the details, Heinz most likely just considered the fact that he was able to tear Van's defenses as "his attack was strong enough to go through".

However, Asagi should know this, either by his experiments, or by being told by Rod's angels, and he could inform Heinz about it, and that's why it's good that we now know Van knows his own weakness.

When Calculator and Laplace died, as they went through Amamiya records, Rodcorte noticed that those two wouldn't help him, worse, they could apologize to Van and work with him, but he couldn't change their direction anymore, so he had 2 choices: wipe their memories and reincarnate in Lambda, or get them to work on his side, which would help him since Van just turned into a guider and started giving Rod's system a lot of errors.

Hey can Mei make special ghost like van? I know they wont be as strong as Van's because of the tittle and skill system, but they should still be a strong deadly force in Origin. It's just all about finding the right ghost or soul and showering DA mana to stabilizes them. I mean a fire ghost in Origin would be awesome and overpowered, because in Origin and Earth people die very easily unless they'er a Braver. Without Lambda magic metals and skills what hope could they have against them.
