Well 4GB is few(same here tho, win 10), but isn't your disk your bottleneck? Buy SSD, you can always put it in next laptop. Prolly.
Your disk usage is 100%... of course that could be due to running low on ram and it going into swap, but I'll be honest with you, I got 16gb ram and run low on ram. I suggest upgrading to SSD first.
only two tabs, i know it's weird it's a pre installed laptop tho 1. about two months? 2. it's a pre installed windows 10 laptop. it's acer swift 3 acer days edition you can google it. 3. chrome happens. i will take it to acer service center just to be careful
Make sure your notebook motherboard can support more than 4GB of RAM. I'd say if your notebook was made before 2008, you wouldn't be able to upgrade it because the computer wouldn't see the extra even if you installed it. That said, you shouldn't be able to run Windows 10 properly on 4GB of RAM...it requires way too many swap file accesses to be performant.
SSD prices have dropped tremendously, while ram prices have been through the roof. Ram prices have dropped a bit recently but if you can afford ram, you can afford an SSD.
Judging by your question and your screenshot you want it... so get it. You'll probably get some use out of it considering you use up so much of your RAM.
how? I only know how to do it through dxdiag. here and this is the official page: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/model/NX.GXMSN.001 Sadly, it's still pricey in my country
This is quite the unusual conundrum. What was the price you paid and do you know when it was manufactured? You, in theory, shouldnt be having a problem unless your doing so much that it stresses the ram and disk to high levels. What have you been doing with it?
I think your laptop has an NVMe/M.2 slot, so you might be able to buy a cheap small SSD (32-64gb) to host the OS and swap.
1. Buy 8GB or more RAM. 2. Add more Virtual Memory. 3. If you running out of storage delete some unused files first. But if it is still not enough buy HDD instead of SSD ( SSD is fast but more expensive then HDD) 4. Save your storage by uploading some of your files to the cloud (I recommended Gdrive, Dropbox and MEGA) 5. Consider downgrading your OS to Windows 7 or Linux ( In my opinion your laptop couldn't handle windows 10 next update even after upgrading your RAM)
Mm, I went from 8 to 16 GB RAM recently and it was totally worth it, but I spend .ost of my time playing video games.
That would be a total waste of money as their issue is that disk usage is 100%, and this isn't talking about space, it means the HDD isn't able to access fast enough.
Acer is shit.....absolute shit.....Asus is comparably better.....HP is whole lotta better.....chances r that u have been given a bad product is high.....
that's what I want to know. Strangely enough, after uninstalling comodo antivirus and defrag the system folder, it's okay right now. But it's still concerning imo. okay, I'll consider it as an option
