    The McDonalds fleet....
I don't remember the name of the novel, but the main character did it on purpose (he was a reincarnator) and it wasn't an isolated incident.
I've been reading the manga version of that one. The names in that are all weird so far.
'Tiararose', 'Hartnight', but Aquasteed is definitely.... definitely the biggest offender.

Though it was for a purpose. The book series that always springs to mind when I think of the simplest and stupidest naming sense would be The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant The names in that series are pretty much allegory. The main villain of the series is dubbed Lord Foul for example.

    Yep, that was it.

There was another novel I came across, where there were multiple reincarnators/transmigrated people.
They each named themselves after famous movie stars.
One guy (the MC) even gave himself a different name for each type of job he did. All movie star names.
It had a good reason though. It was to help reincarnators find each other.

He Didn’t Want to Be the Center of Attention, Hence, after Defeating the Demon Lord, He Became Guild Master

You guys haven't seen the novel with the most ridiculous naming sense until you read the "Demon King, Retry!" Surely you will question the author's naming sense after you read some of the character's name.
