Go to Google Play and buy the translated version of 'Look Who's Back' by Timur Vermes. It has the usual 'transmigration to the future' trope common in the novels in this site. It is so popular there are even a movie version of it. Recommended by me for OBVIOUS reasons.

There are rare things about germans that are not war propaganda (still today, even 100 years after the war) filled with lies, exaggerations and targeting them as enemies and the principal, monsters.

    Well, yeah
But in any country and any language, you're gonna find at least some hate stuff...
Of course, that doesnt make it good, please dont misunderstand me
But singling out any one place based on history, and condemning them for something everybody does to a degree (of course, with varrying targets) seems somehow wrong

Just was made prisons, pretty light in truth, talking war and history but if you see with who it was made and the proporcions today you will see it was not wrong at all. The problem was diagnosed correctly but the solution not at all. Anyway, just sayin...

I just saw this thread linked in another one and thought I'd add my two cents: I don't think light novels are that big in Germany. There are some translations but I haven't really seen any that were originally written in German.
If you're just looking for some fantasy stuff written in German (since somebody mentioned it), then I'd recommend anything from Wolfgang Hohlbein or Kai Meyer. I think those two were (and still are) rather popular in Germany. Their books are mostly YA stuff though. Hohlbein has some more mature books too, some of which are more historical.
