    There are three reasons
    1. Most of the Japanese authors are lolicons
    2. Maximum number of MCs are naive
    3. girls entering harem like cabbages. No romantic plot just love at first sight .

I feel like i am reading a book written for 9 year olds

Yeah idk I read more visual novels instead of the light novels now and those are great they usually don’t have the issues you listed. Many contain sexual content though.

Most of the jap novels are harem isekai novels and its almost like an unwritten rule that every harem must have at least 1 loli and 1 trap. The main girl could be different and the others but there is always a loli and often times a trap. Traps usually appear when harems reach around 5 or above numbers while lolis are usually the 2nd or 3rd to appear

Isn't it more like... You're reading genres you don't like? I mean, if you avoid the harem tag, a lot of the problems you're describing magically disappear.:blob_sunglasses:

That being said, it seems like mostly harem stories get picked up and translated. They're weirdly popular despite being awful (plot/character wise). Hm. :hmm:

I don't read much from Japanese authors now, mostly because they just... Aren't original. And what I mean is they tend to do tropes not characters and the story lines in such novels are stale, at best. Or at least that's the kind of novels translators keep bringing over. After all, I can't read a lick of Japanese so, alas, what I'm getting is a small sampling of what's truly available.

There are a few novels I quite like by Japanese authors. So while it's generally true they're repetative, it's not always true. They do occasionally write something interesting and even more rare is it gets translated so I can read it.

The content is usually very subpar haha. I’m talking boring to the point of snoring subpar. A lot of people would just skip it to get back to the story.

One important point that you are forgetting:
Good novels are not usually popular. A man's gotta eat. :blobcat_knife:
