I can enjoy myself just fine. I mean i don't get attached to a username online. Not that i don't have any emotions. I having fun right now, this is quite interesting
@Lurking, it's not a problem and you are no sinner. It's your choice whether you want to be a 'real' person here or just a role player. The people who become attached to an online persona do that at their own peril, knowing perfectly well that it can just be a facade. Be whatever you want to be. Just don't flirt shamelessly with someone. I've at least one dear friend who is a bit like this. But you know, both of us actually cherish our friendship, even though we don't talk since ages.
Yeah. And I still pop up from time to time, to affirm that actually happened but now I am unimportant.
Maybe you should contact this friend for the first time in forever and chat about how things are different.
I try not to make assumptions and just go with what the person writes or a direct implication of it. Since I have no idea what she does, I provided a hypothetical yet possible situation
ah...still you cannot guarantee what the other party's feelings are. It's why I keep it real from the get go now. NUF is not a MUD, I treat it like a forum only now.
Summerforest was talking about an old friend I think. Not me. I am a she, altho i have been called an it frequently.
Confession time: I spent like 4-5 months posing as an eternally 12 year-old shota online most people didn't believe it because I used the same account and just changed my username to a less girly version but the new people who didn't know me before totally bought it so much so that when I got bored of being a boy and changed back to being a girl they thought I was a trap I feel that online personas aren't really a bad thing I mean, aren't they just another form of ourselves? especially on such a formless plane of existence as the internet, we can be whoever we want to maybe our online personas are a truer manifestation of ourselves than what reality allows due to various social/societal/cultural limitations or maybe we're just bored and want to temporarily pose as a shota for lols
Once, I posed as 6 different fans of the same thing at once. (Because I liked it so much) The illusion broke after I lost internet for a month. Can I cringe now?
Multi User Dungeon is a text base platform to play games. Like dungeons and dragons or Zelda. ^.^ NUF would make an interesting mud imho cause it would clarify people's rp roles and unlock everyone's creativity. I used to play these types of games lots when I was in college. http://www.mudconnect.com/mud_intro.html - good introduction site if you are interested.
This is not really the same... You didn't make some 12 year old girl to fall for that persona only to confess later that you are in fact a lemon fairy?
What the fuck. No. No romance in roleplay... no seducing in roleplay. No I would not. Edit, would not consider for more than a second to do so seriously.
Refers you to @yuzuki and her clones. Your case is a bit different, but having multiple online persona isn't that unnatural.
