Oh man.. I used to really look forward every single day to read the latest update on this novel.. but the recent arc.. was so hard to read. I can’t believe it’s even written by the same author. Really considering to drop the series all together.. I know I might be in the wrong section but can anyone spoil about what’s gonna happen after chapter 250ish? Any upcoming exciting arcs? Overall.. Is it even worth to continue investing into this series? Please use the spoiler tag so others won’t get spoiled. Thank you!
Well, here are some spoilers for you. Spoiler 1. There's a magus girl he meets during the war (coming real soon) 2. Around chapter 260 he gets a huge victory despite horrible odds. His military career shoots upward from there. 3. The latest arc in the raw turns its attention to the other colony of Nubissia, with Shiks as the main enemy kingdom.
Is this novel harem? I thought it was only that girl from his hometown but then he’s about to have sex with baroness... such a pity
It's long, but from the recent developments in the raws, this will get even more heated. I wonder if there's a raw discussion thread for readers who can read Chinese?
Magic seems more a means to an end than the end goal itself. Claude is a Black Iron magi, and he owes his initial success to that, but his financial and military career so far has relied on him using novel strategies and exploiting his opponents weaknesses. He doesn't really need magic for that. Not that I don't think he will stop learning magic, but only when as a side job. Even the new spells he just got he hasn't learned yet. Even after his military career ends, I think the focus will be on him opening a business in either real-estate development or manufacturing/R&D (my bet's on him creating smokeless powder, breech-loading rifles/artillery and cartridges).
Not that I am complaining. Because I’d rather read about the military than magic. However, he has made it quite clear that his priority in life is Magic. The only reason he is in the army was because of forced conscription. Therefore, it would seem more logical for him to focus on that rather then business. But seeing how unpredictable this story is it could go anywhere.
Looking at the author's previous work it feels like the MC is forced to do something (becoming baron of the Norton Dominion) and then ends up enjoying it. It feels like Lorist was also resistant to the idea of becoming emperor but we all knows he actually wants the position. My guess is Claude will rack up enough achievements to become and honrary baron or higher and then become a politican/businessman after the war.
Is Askilin's capital called "Bravisosburg" or "Swansburg?" There are references to the latter in some earlier chapters.
Swansburg is the Askilinian capital in my notes. Bravisosburg is another city, unless i made a mistake somewhere.
Apparently, the old chapters have swansburg as capital but the newer ones are bravisosburg. Swansburg still exists as a city. Since mentions of bravisosburg being capital are more frequent, I'll keep it as that and retcon Swansburg into a normal large city in the duchy. This keeps consistency and doesn't conflict with the rest of the story either.
