If I were ever in situation when I'm required to deal with knife wound alone, quite possibly on my own body, what should I do? Looking for practical tips.

If the knife is still embedded in your body, don't pull it out?

Make a strong bandage that restricts the flow of blood there and run/speedwalk to a hospital

if it's a small slice, keep suppressing the wound with cloth until it clots a bit and isnt gushing fresh anymore, clean a knife and heat it in the fire and then seal the wound by burning it shut.

This requires alot of willpower and is an extreme measure bc of aversion to heat/pain

*looks at your pic* ...is it too late? RIP:blob_teary:

Call ambulance, ask them for instruction. Maybe they can help with emergency first aid, but after that go to hospital
Tldr: i'm not sure too, ask the professional

Rub salt on the wound first then coat with a layer of red chilli powder and drink hot sauce.

Scream for help and apply pressure. Then keep applying pressure and give up since you were somehow unlucky enough to get stabbed. Despair as it takes forever for help to come.

Though seriously, just get help. Apply pressure and stay still. You won't be able to perform any first-aid on yourself in the situation anyway. If you get help then hopefully they can bandage you up and help keep you calm. Maybe even get further help.

Probably it really depends where and how deep you’re stabbed...

I only dealt with some small superficial wounds during work but it also depends on the state of the knife. Sharp and clean knives cause less damage than I would have imagined at first. If it’s just a sliced finger and you can disinfect the wound fast and press it, you’ll probably won’t have too much to worry about.

Worst I’ve seen was when one guy smashed and cut his finger on the top grate of a grease trap (those things are nasty) and well...he had to take tetanus shot and went straight up to the emergency. Also when another coworker accidentally stabbed himself right in the middle of his palm. He takes some sort of medication that thins out his blood and he kept bleeding for several minutes while I was holding a towel desperately trying to stop it... fun times...

Restrict blood flow and cauterize it if it's serious. Disinfection is also important. Not knowledgable about this stuff though, so take with salt.

Rinsing an open wound with water would make it bleed faster

edit: I got a head wound once and my hair filled with blood before I noticed. My mom freaked out and was panickedly trying to wash it off with a water hose. My other family members there stopped her. When I got to a doctor and was being stitched up, we chatted about how I got the wound and the water hose part came up. The doctor laughed and said something like "yeah don't do that, you could die."
Best thing to do is put pressure, with something clean if possible, towel is good. After the hose thing my family gave me a rag to press on my head and by the time the doctor showed up, it was barely bleeding anymore. Though mine was just a deep scratch.
My mother got a deep cut once though, and steady pressure helped reduce the bleeding in that situation too.

edit 2: If the cut is on a limb and you really think it might kill you, try a tourniquet. It's not recommended for people without training to use it because you have to release it every now and then according to a certain timing otherwise the lack of blood kills the limb. But if it's a choice between a limb and death, it is worth it.
