Not as great as Homecoming but still good. Isn't it strange that 21 Brad is still in school with 16 year olds? Didn't they have school when half the universe died for 5 years? Btw why is MJ a latina or something? and not a readhead, also Flash. Different Marvel universe? Spiderman being outed by a vilain seems awfully familiar, did it already happen in other movie?
You're missing the plot plug for the hole In the entire series, all of the related characters were snapped out of the authors conveniences.... And this is 2019, all whites must be colored for equality God help directors that tries to cast white people for coloured characters....
The VFX was simply a treat for the eys. The story was umm okayishalright but nothing special or noteworthy. I wonder how his next movie is gonna be after that cliffhanger ending and spidey leaving the MCU.
Marvel like usual Marvel thingy, changed MJ from Mary Jane to Michelle Johnson or whatever her name is.....and also made Aunt May a fking MILF.....this new spiderman is a disaster so i havent watched a single one.....him in Civil War was great.....but he became a Mr. Stark boi afterwards.....if the deal between Sony and Marvel came thru he would have been made gay as both Feige and Holland showed interest there.....
I think they were trying to change the characters canon personalities, with MJ being a bland cardboard cut out and Flash being a popular jock that bullies Peter. IMO this improves the movie by a lot, it makes MJ a good love interest, and since bullies like the original Flash are super rare now it is more realistic for him to be an arrogant rich boy. The race changes are probably because they want to signify their inner change with an outer change.
Changing her name is not necessary. And I hate to break it to you. MJ was never a cardboard cutout. Also, there are other love interests for Spiderman eg Gwen Stacy. People keep hailing the changes when Johnson is like the most stereotypical name in the U.S. It is called John Doe for a reason... I am not interested in the new movies. Tobey McGuire first two were just that good. I only watched Amazing Spider-Man because it was significantly different with a different love interest. These are just lazy remakes. Adapting Spectacular Spiderman or something vastly different would have been better. Teens may enjoy it but I have no interest in watching Spiderboy
So why would they know of him? Dude Homecoming is the best Spider movie so far(okay maybe not, just rewatched SM1 and it's pretty deep and emotional, but homecoming is more fun). Nothing wrong with a tech spidey, there's so many budget spandex spideys. Oh yeah Aunt May was supposed to be a grandma, well there isn't Osborn either. I guess that verse didn't fit in with the Avengers. Dude I haven't even noticed when Amazing Spider-man came out, it looks like crap. You should watch Homecoming. I don't know is she's a latina, but she's kinda coco coloured, Flash as well, same characters from Homecoming, just I'm commenting on it now.
I consider the MCU a whole other thing most of the time these days considering how much has changed. That said, FFH was okay? But compared to Homecoming (and I think because of the film preceding it) it wasn't particularly outstanding. They're really going for the 'no past villains or plotlines' thing apparently so we got Mysterio instead of other fan favourites, which was interesting in theory (and pretty to look at with all the effects), but personally the plot for that was kinda... eh. And MJ's MJ instead of Mary Jane because diversity and trying to find someone other than Cindy Moon or another Gwen Stacy as a love interest? Or so they say.
As you admitted yourself, the first Spiderman was emotionally rich. Personally, I am not interested in fun movies. I prefer meaningful movies. Never really liked high school plots to be honest. I am not calling it a bad movie. It is just not my cup of tea. I watched the First Avengers movies and it was more than enough fun for me.
