Why It Should Get Picked Up: I found the manhwa to be interesting but the translation of it has caught up with the raws and the novel is way ahead. and personally If find the novels to be more interesting and indepth
Description: -- I couldn't find a proper synopsis and I don't read Korean but here is what I understood from the manhwa and the spoiler comments --
The story is about Mook Hyang who is a cultivator from a cultivating world, he gets in a battle with other cultivators and they use a ritual to send him away. he gets transported to another world that has magic.
from there he is taken in by a family learns the language and then sets off travels a bit gets some company and has a few fights, learns about teleportation magic and finds an expert to ask about traveling between worlds. this is about where the manhwa is from here there is the spoilers saying that he turns into a girl, though its in the title, and is taken in by a dragon as a child of the dragon.

I honestly do not understand why people are complaining about the genderblender part. I've read some pretty good novels that just used it as the main element and sometimes a side element, but they where worth the read. and I can agree that some of them are stupid, but the genderbelder doesn't always ruin the novel.

Had I known from the beginning it was gonna be gen ben, I wouldn't hv started on it. It's a tag I avoid. Reading 20+ chs so far, I had begun to hv certain expectations of it. In my mind, it was (and was going to be) a manhwa about a powerful old male murim expert traveling and fighting across strange lands in his search for a way home. But now I am told that he turns into a weak girl who can't even hold a sword. This isn't what I came for, and isn't something I would stick around to read.

Subverting expectations is one thing; but this feels like changing the genre of the story (not to mention gender of protag). I'm obviously not the target audience and neither are, I believe, a large chunk of current readers, if the comments after the spoiler reveal r anything to go by. Ofc, these r just my opinions; if there r those who would still enjoy it (different tastes and all that), I hv nothing against them. But it was ruined 4 me.

P.S. People complain about gen ben cuz it's a big deal; not everyone likes that genre. This one didn't hv the tag, so u get a lot of people (who would usually avoid) reading it unawares. Ofc, there's gonna be a backlash when it's revealed. I only commented bcuz I was a former reader who felt like he got tricked and his hopes dashed; if I hadn't read it from the beginning (which could only hv happened had it been tagged correctly), I wouldn't hv bothered posting on this thread, and left it to people who actually like this niche.

gen ben doesnt really change his mentality. He's still is the old murim expert but with a curse? As long as it doesn't get ecchi on me i don't think i'll mind
There's an incident early after he is cursed where he get hammered and is about to be raped(thankfully he isn't). As he was at his lowest at that point, and inebriated, his guard was down. Afterwards he realizes he has been given a chance to start over(and hopefully be more powerful than before) and regains his composure
. All in all I doubt it would be easy to take advantage of a murim expert especially an unorthodox one so i m not worried.

I don't really care about all those points u mentioned. What annoys me is the author pulling the stunt of "he's too OP, so let's bring him back to starting point". IMO, gen-ben was just a means of achieving that. And the gen-ben irritates me even more cuz I don't do that genre. But it was not tagged as such, so I feel tricked. It is just not the story I expected it to be, with the plot-line being disruptive more in a way of "ugh" than "wow".

Yea I got blind sided too. By the gen-ben and the nerfing too. There's just not enough good stories out there rn so I m okay sticking to it. The nerfing just changed the story from op dude about to rape this world to a more reincarnation/ start over one. I m okay with both, the former would have probably gotten old quickly at least compared to starting over.

I was expecting so much from this series, not to mention I loved dark’s design as the male form, BUT THEY THEN FUKING CHANGED HIM INTO A GIRL. ALSO IT WAS THE SAME DESIGN AS THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER IN THE STORY(my opinion) LIKE WHY. I CAME FOR A FUN OP ROMP OF A MURIM CULTIVATOR, BUT NOW I HAVE TO SIT AND WATCH HIM LEGIT BE A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS TRAPPED IN A TOWER. LIKE JUST WHY.

all in all, can someone tell me if he ever changes back? Cause that’s the only thing I’m sticking with this series for... if he doesn’t, I’m just gonna drop like a lot of others.

(I just really liked his design as dark(male) ;w; )

I wonder if he'd get turned back as well. I wont even start this if he doesnt... then again, I likely wont even if he does. Gen ben is gross A.F. (IMO- to each their own!)

I may consider it if im desperate later on as long as he turns back, and as long as there isnt anything sexual that happens to him while hes like that, as well as no rape or NTR to any characters at any time in the story.

Anyone who's read it if you could enlighten the rest of us about any of these content spoilers I'd appreciate it.

Second this. I took quite a surprise to see him turning into a lady, but the story seemed to take itself more seriously now that she became a pushover trying to stabilize her situation. I mean, it's a kind of subvert of expectation for me, because I thought the mage would isekai'ed him into another world again. (also, the title also hinted at the gender bender aspect, so I take it as a foreshadowing)

Not a 'unique' world, but a dynamic one. I'm still waiting for more manhua chapters. Honestly, I'm intrigued by the masterplan of the dragons, spirits, as well as the schemes of the kingdoms. of course, the MC herself also has quite a backstory.

Definitely one of the better story I've ever read.

I am one those who loves gender bender trope and honestly i dont understand why people loathe it so much. As far as the latest translation goes the author has not diverted nor changed MCs goal. I was actually getting tired of MC steam rolling out of every situation through brute force alone. Getting him back to normal human level was maybe an unorthodox method to spice things up but i enjoyed it greatly since gender bender is my cup of tea...especially if its done correctly. So far the plot is quite interesting and so i will hang on to it.

Seriously its dissapointing , all was going well as a shounen genre . And suddenly becomes trash .
(Spoiler alert but its worth to know) I mean the protagonist was shown for soloing or manliness and respect . Now his weak companions look with pity on him/her , beat her , threatened her even(Its worse when they are not enemy) and he just gives up after beaten , cant say a word . I mean dont start it of u will give up ,or end with a bloody mess till u pass out . Then he got stripped by some drunk men in a house . And they say nothing serious happen . I'm not sure if she was f*cked but they assaulted her in their house already . He dont swear loyalty to others , now he swears loyalty to the enemy that think for revenge only , and he was smiling proudly . He dont use the worlds methods .. but now he use a robot and a op ring which others made . I mean what is left of the story .

20 chapter is too long for such change . He turned into a girl completely , in mind also just like the girl whose appearance he took . Nothing is left , the plot to beat the enemy who sacrfice others , kidnap him and friends , turned to him serving them with pride , A murim master with great mentality and turn to a girl who cant get up once you beat her . Change the title and make it into another webtoon .

The artwork is great and its the only thing thats remained . I assure you its trash unless you have fetish for a prideful man turn to a girl and getting ra*ped , or a kidnaped girl submitting pridefully to serve a bunch of trash who sacrifice others like its their property , aahh its soo trash .

    ( No spoilers)
Its like when there is a pretty lady who wish to become the top fighter mage to help her family , in a paricular plot .. so you got interested ...the lady won many tournament and trained hard , till she became a famous master who was known for her unforgiving naturr . One day, she was ambushed and the lady got gangr*ped by her guards , and now it turns to a story of the lady traveling happily with the guards as a healer in their adventure , and she solves problem around her by having sex with noble's kids . She takes pride to serve them .

I'm not exaggerating . Check my story , people who like it will enjoy the series . Else dont .

He was shown as being a great unorthodox expert and he is now weaker than his "weak" companions. Nothing strange about them looking at him with pity, or even threatening him when the man is at rock bottom and a danger to himself(this is very important). It's not strange that he would look at other methods to increases his strength either. His physical strength can nerfed with magic(like the one that was used to turn him into a little girl). He need to at least learn magic. All in all, shitty post 1/10

    First of:
The gender bend aspect is well done. Its used as a story building aspect and not for ecchi stuff or only to nerve the MC (he soon becomes powerful again)
Yes, he bends his knee to his "enemy", but he never had any real hatred for them. He understands and respects the character of their leader and their situation. And first and foremost they are the only ones that might have a chance of dispelling his curse.
This story is happening in a fantasy world not a cultivation world. So in this story there are magical creatures, spirits and dragons. And there are armors the humans use to empower themselves. But so far (in the Manhua) the MC neither uses magic nor am armor.

This story in the book apparently starts of in the MC's original world with him being 1. OP as heck and 2. as the last of the really strong evil cultivators. While in the Manhua this is only summarized in the introduction I've read comments that the novel author takes his time / some books to describe the MCs live in his original world.

After arriving in this magical world he has his share of trouble instead of being Mr. Perfect and still be OP as heck. He still has all his martial powers and those are also OP as heck in this world - no human / no one can compete with him in 1 vs 1 in a physical duel. BUT he doesn't receive a buff that allows him to speak the language of the world (he struggles to learn it) nor does he receive huge magic powers for crossing the worlds (rather, as there was no magic in his old world, he has no magic and also no resistance to magic at all). This story element is what endears the story to me. The MC appears more human and also has to struggle with the new situation.
Now, after his arrival in this new world he has no enmity with anyone (rather his enemies / targets of revenge are in his original world, but he can't go there without massive magic power while he has none) but can appreciate kindness and make new friends. During the travels with his new companions they are involuntarily mixed up in politics (or rather an important secret mission of one nation (Krataus Empire) against a group of people of the biggest empire on the continent during their rout through a neutral third country, and it even involves the church). Of course, because of the importance of the mission, there can't be any witnesses. So the Krataus Empire tries to silence the group but is beaten by our MC. As the MC is not to be beaten by physical assassination or elemental magic the Empire gets the great idea to use our MCs weaknesses against him: 1. His non-existent resistance to magic 2. his carelessness (he so far only experienced elemental magic and therefore doesn't think of magic as much of a threat) They use a curse to turn the MC into the existence the fears or hates the most. Surprisingly what he turns into is not an animal nor an enemy of his old world, but a copy of the female weak ass priest that is escorted by their group after her "rescue" after the group witnessed the secret mission.
I really like how the author now again fully describes the troubles the MC experienced because of this change. In many gender bend novels the MC accepts the situation immediately, with a positive mind and might even experience a buff. In this novel though our MC does not. He has to struggle to come to terms with 1. his new gender (before he was very proud of his manliness and very negative about this weak female priest. Now he himself has the same weak body as that hated priest...) 2. his weakness
Especially his weakness is well expanded on. The MC is now a weak girl that never exercised and no longer has any martial power. So of course his goal to return to his world now is even more impossible. This in turn leads him to a depression and with his old mindset of being invincible lets him at one point to get wasted and almost accept "help" form some "kind" strangers. Luckily / Of course he's rescued before anything can happen.
Yes, transformation is a well known instrument of the authors (though often hated by the readers) to turn an OP-MC down to a more manageable (for the author) level, but in this case that's not all the transformation is used for. It is used to give the MC a goal (the MCs deep depression is reduced by his travelling companions words, but not rooted out) - he / she needs to get stronger fast and no matter the cost. It give the MC the opportunity to grow mentally (he, that was a genius of geniuses before (in cultivation), has the opportunity to understand weak people). The curse also turns out to have a positive effect as the MCs body now "is part of this world" and therefore can have magic power and magic resistance. The unique situation of the MC give the author the opportunity to apparently make him the center of several plans the dragons and the spirits have. It also give the author the opportunity to slowly build up his world and introduce several other powers and powerful beings.

For those of you that hate a weak MC, Dark doesn't stay weak for too long! But, he takes a shortcut to get powerful and those shortcuts come with repercussions! So far in the Manhua (up to ~ch80) the repercussions were suppressed and no longer mentioned, but the story (now that the MC is quite powerful again) only just takes of and slowly at that.

The MC is not the only one with martial powers in the new world and the most powerful ones could probably go toe to toe with the more powerful cultivators of the MCs old world. Of the MCs cultivation was quite different, and he was a special genius so none are as powerful by far as he was as a man. Even with his new powers in the girls body, the MC is more powerful in a 1 vs 1 fight than most "masters" of this world.
But as this world has some very powerful magical beasts, mankind found that their martial power alone is still too weak. So they researched magical armors that can increase the power the master has several folds.
So fat the Manhua only shows Darks disgust for tools such as the armors (and he has no need for one as he can beat powerful masters using the latest armor without using one himself or even using magic), but he has to accept how useful they are in making weak soldiers powerful.

I'm not sure how the author will continue with the MC. He has the protection of the most powerful water spirit, has the most powerful armor and even has a weapon made out of a rip from a gold dragon. So far the MC still only relies on his martial powers, but we'll see...
The story just takes of. There apparently are several plots afloat - political ones (the Krataus Empire, the MC ins now part of, wants to declare independence), plots made by the / a spirit(s) that have the MC as a central tool, some dragons openly support(?) the plans of the spirit, but seem to have a different goal of their own and maybe even of the gods (the god that's powers were used to curse the MC and the dark entity that's power the MC uses to got his new martial powers)

All in all I'd say the story has a very well written MC an interesting world building and even the companions of the MC have a backstory and a character of their own.
Regrettably the author (at least in the Manhua) never mentioned some characters again. The priest, that the MC is cursed to look like, had a special position in the church and had a role to play in the original plan of the Krataus Empire, yet soon after the MC turned a girl the Manhua never really mentions her again. During the MCs stay at the capital of the Empire, several nobles / masters had their eye on him / her, but after the MC got his powers, he goes off to another city, and we never hear again of the nobles, their plans or their relationships - all the plots that were build up before are simply cut of and the internal political situation of the empire is (so far) forgotten.
We'll have to see / read in what direction the author plans on taking the MCs power and his adventure.
