That's because nobody cares about the shit novels, whereas good novels were all stolen by those money hungry publishers.
Money hungry? Give me a break, if these money hungry publishers didn't spend their money to build such platforms you would have never heard of the novels. Also, I hate to break it to you. All the novels you love that have problems is because due to the translator's own fault.. Why contact publishers when you cannot afford to license the novel? These naive people are just inflating their ego. Publishers don't make an effort to locate websites, it's the other way around. For legal reasons, they cannot give permission. You cannot claim ignorance when the dumb translator contacted you.
I've heard how retarded you are, but now I've confirmed it. All the novels I like that has been stopped by publisher are being translated without no problem, nobody contact any publisher, the publisher s are the one that contact the translator after acquiring the lisence after novel became a hit because of fan translation. Why would anyone contact the publisher so they could stop translating idiot. And for your information this thread is a place to discuss about a novel that is posted in a freaking forum, not a bullshit platform, retard. Think before posting, idiot.
Sorry to break to you but I have been in this community a long time and spoken to site owners and run a website of my own. I should rephrase and say a majority because it is what happens. It gives street cred to get the stamp of permission but unlike Japanese web novels that are free to read asking for content that is commercial for free is dumb. Also, it is not beyond some in this community to report novels to publishers/Wordpress and get them taken down out of spite. Unlike many on here seem to believe. The novel industry is a business regardless of whether you slap fan translation on it. You are overestimating people on here. Big hug for you
Well, I did get a bit hot there cause of bad mood, but really though, it can't be the majority right? Humanity still have hope left, right?
It is the majority. This community has a vocal group who just dont know how business work. Some also goad people to have try to have permission or licenses Anyone with a brain knows that your average College student cannot afford to license a novel But when people's pride get hurt they do it anyway I even had a stalker that was goading me into revealing who my translators are. I am not stupid enough to let my translators get poached. That person was enabled until he started attacking wuxiaworld. All of a sudden, you had people screaming in righteous indignation Just imagine how it felt for someone to reply to every post you make for a year I failed before but I will try to start something like a fan translator guild. It will give translators more clout so they dont get bullied. Pacific Novels claimed to license a novel too because this community pressures those who dont When you dont see an obvious means to monetize, you should be wary. By the way, Myoniyoni translations is shutting down https://myoniyonitranslations.com/myoniyoni-translation/ I always tell everyone that I aim to be the crunchyroll of novels: steal enough money to afford licensing costs
Someone contacted me about picking it up, that is how I found out. I have contacted Myoniyoni translations but havent heard back. I also left a comment.
it is, but for now, we only get manhua. Maybe we can make a petition to WW for this novel, as they seem to be picking up a lot of Korean novels lately
What happens when the publisher asks a TLer to stop? Do they translate and marketize it themselves, like Yenpress?
Sometimes nothing happens. Some publishers simply want to stop a series from being published because it looks like it may take away money that they might potentially make. The best example is the Legendary Moonlight Sculptor, where every some odd years the translators will try to get permission from the publisher and get shut down (royal road) or get a cease and desist (rainbowturtle). Despite all the publisher's effort to stop fan translation there has been no movement towards actual translation. I don't know how the publisher found out about second ranker since it was on WW's forum. Maybe someone reached out to the author or publisher and was told "no". Also, I remember there was something ambiguous about the TLers needing to do their military service, so hopefully they can come back in a few years and start translating it again. or, hopefully someone else will go nuts and start translating this series..
Unfortunately, the publisher found them before they left for military service. But maybe someone else will pick it up. This was a really promising series.
Actually gravity tales were the first to contact the authors then started giving them donations I at the time thought it was a bad idea but what could I do then the trend of contacting authors spread to wuxia world the biggest translation site cause they accepted some gravity tales translators which gave the publishers info to the 2 biggest sites at that time and you know the rest from there
It's really sad. I binge-read this novel's translation mere days before it was pulled down and hence was shocked. Do hope that either the publisher gets some sense into them and translate this despite their BUSY SCHEDULE.
