I have seen in American movies where the writers treat America as the world and every place else is either a back-ground slave or a Barbarian enemy. But with Asians it's more apparent and more annoying, the racism is so much that it's just unbearable. IT's just like "my country is the best in anything and everything and the rest of the world is either barbarians or devils. And let's not talk about hypocrisy because I'd need to spend days describing the shit I read.

 

National pride, indoctrinated whilst young that simple brain washing.

Edit: just like as a kid if your parents are racist you will think like they do.

 

I think for Asians, part of the reason might be censure. If they don't add such things then they might not get published or something of the kind.

Asia isn't just China, S. Korea and Japan, y'know?

 

The more secluded the country , the more they're stuck in a vicious cycle of certain thought. A lot of americans don't know anything beyond their own country, more so for China, and North Korea at the pinnacle.
I.e. I'm Dutch, and you hardly ever see people talking about how bad Germans were and even if someone did, they'd refer to Nazis , not Germans in general.
Where Chinese MC's still have a very strong hatred towards the Japanese for war crimes around the same era and it's focused on all 'Japs' , not just imperialists or whatever they were at the time.
North Korea being more like a commune, where the outside world is too scary to even consider.

It hasn't been that long since 'China' opened up, and it's still mostly superficial. Should fade away with a few decades of interaction with the internet / other countries if the censorship laws don't go apeshit on them.

 

It's because the Chinese populace is already brainwashed into thinking that China is the best and every other country is a shithole in comparison.

 

Because the government censors everything and if you don't do as it says, your content gets taken off? Also, haven't you seen China's living circumstances? They're living in a bubble. Read some news man. Don't just read novels.

 

If you don't suck your country's dick then you're either a puppet of China, US, Russia or Israel. That's basically it.

 

I'd be more concerned if they didn't feel some national pride. Absolutely nothing wrong with someone believing that their country is the best in the world. There are a lot more cultures than just one and each culture puts importance on different things.

Well, calling it “America” instead of US or USA is low-key sucking their dick already.

 

Be thankful your experience is only in the web, I had mine IRL a few years back with every nationality started to yell out on how great their country's culture is, then someone struck a nerve and a brawl occurred. I got whack in the head for not standing out for anything.

 

I dunno, most "American" movies are produced in the USA and Canada. So should it be called North American?

If by “american” movies he means movies from all over the american continent then no. If by “american” he means from USA, then yes. Or just say “canadian movies” or “US movies”. America is a whole continent, you know? People don’t call China “Asia”, there is no reason to be any different with the US.
