I do acknowledge that it would be a lot of work, but, at least in my opinion, it would probably be better to implement sooner rather than later, as the amount of work needed will only increase the longer it is put off...

The idea is good and would make the system better for sure... I think Tony even got convinced by Runsing to do it, but... It's a low-priority feature.

Don't expect it to happen any time soon, if ever.

    Ugh....
It frustrates me (and probably a lot of other users), when I just want to find out about the novel's MC and I get something like this:

and have to read through the whole block of text...

I DO NOT want to delete individul tags from cards, but remove unused tags that are shown in the browser on the left side. No cards use those tags

maybe he feels that we should trim down the repetitive tags? Like how the groups of:

    and

    could be consolidated into
    • Has Related Manga/Manhua/Manhwa
    • Has Related Anime/TV Series/Movie/Drama
    • Has Related Game(Visual Novel, video game, etc.)
    • Has Related Miscellaneous Media(Music, Audiobook, etc)

This is my guess what he meant, anyway...
Either way, it's something to look into. I don't think most readers care overly much if the web novel, light novel, or the manga came first, but rather that these adaptations exist in the first place.

PS: Seriously, do SOMETHING about Based on a TV Show (1)... It only has 1 freaking series in it, it's driving my OCD tendencies crazy!

Based on and Adapted to totally need to be separate. If a novel is based on something, I don't read that novel and go instead watch whatever it was based on.

Similarly, if an anime is based on a novel, I often skip the anime and go to the novel.

In a similar vein, if the novel is based on something, I wanna know exactly what it is based on, so that I can go after the thingy it is based on.

If anything, I'd say the adapted to manga/manhwa/manhua tags could be merged.

I don't like that they have multiple / in one sentence.

    what alice said.
Other than that maybe merge drama and drama CD. Althought they might have a significant difference I don't know off

On a side note, shouldn't we change
    • Adapted from Manga (25)
    • Adapted from Manhua (2)
    to
    • Based on a Manga (25)
    • Based on a Manhua (2)
I mean, for consistency's sake and stuff. Also because I'm pretty sure I'd very easily misread "adapted from manga" as "adapted to manga" instead.

Well, I felt that those should be listed out together for the sake of clarity. Although people like to differentiate them, Manhua, Manga, and Manhwa are more or less the same thing, but from different countries of origin. Google-sensei says so!
In any case, when looking for the manga/manhua/manhwa, the original language doesn't matter too much, readers mainly care if it is translated into a language that they can read...

Do you not do any prior research on what you want to read? What if the novel is translated, but the manga (which it is based on) is not? Also, for finding out which is the "original", can't you just compare the earliest publication dates?

If in need for a proper definition for the last of the rejected definitions, my best shot would be:

Netorare: either the protagonist or a love interest of the protagonist is brought to adultery or to the breaking of their relationship by a third party who "steals" them, often, but not always, by blackmailing rape; after some time the "stolen" part becomes willingly supportive of the new relationship or switches affections. If the protagonist is the one seizing other people's partners, use tag "Netori" instead.

I'm wondering, does the mature protagonist tag really serve a purpose atm?, it is such a vague term that it kinda seem useless without a given definition, which it doesn't have atm.
We have a lot of other protagonist tags that are a lot more specific and overlaps with this one way or another.

That seems like a fair argument to me, I wouldn't mind this tag gone~

I'm not really saying it should be removed though, more that it badly needs a definition, or that it possibly could even be split in two tags.
The way it is now it doesn't clearly differentiate between an older protagonist or an experienced protagonist.

Not sure if this is still active but is there a way to see if a request for a new tag is denied or still pending?

Since we have tags for racism and nationalism, I think sexism and homophobic tags can be used to describe a quite a few novels.

There is no way to check that. Tony will just add a new tag to the database if he likes the new tag I believe.

    Got it. Thanks.

I'll just re-up my request for now in case it didn't go through last time.

Posting this just in case someone is wondering what's going on with the R-19 tag.

"R-19" will be merged under the "R-18" tag.

In Korea, when a child is born, they are counted as 1 year old. This means that when a Korean is 19 years old, they are actually only 18 years to everyone else in the world. So R-19 "translated" is actually R-18. (There's also some thingy about going up in age on New Years Day, but let's ignore that for now.)

To anyone who specifically wants to find """R-19""" novels, just use the R-18 tag with the Korean language filter.
