Help? My laptop did not seem to turn on after last night. I want to recover the data at least. it is lenovo ideapad 510s 14-isk. How do I begin recovery? When the power button is pressed, there's only the Power LED that lights up. no other noise at all. Can this be saved?
Remove the hard drive and put it in something else? Be it the desktop or another laptop? (you might need to change a AHCI settings if you use it in a desktop) That said, have you tried removing the battery and plugging it in to see if it works? Or removing the CMOS battery and putting it back in?
You need to remove the battery then plug in the adapter. Sometimes if the battery dies, it prevents the laptop from turning on even if its plugged in.
Throw it away, I think it’s broken. My dad throw Big TV, he buy it a year cause it didn’t turn on. My oldest sister throw three iPhone, it didn’t turn on. It’s off. So she throw, same with laptop and computer. We did charge it, but it still didn’t turn on.
Recovery of data on the drive could be difficult if you use hardware-level drive encryption. If the drive isn't encrypted, you can remove it and use an external enclosure or just pop it in another laptop or desktop for data recovery.
It could be many problems, like the screen, or the HD, the graphic card, etc, bring it to a tech to have a look a it
did you try to blow in it's ear? used to work on my ex ... otherwise just set the HDD somewhere till you get a new one ...
If you are trying to boot with only the battery, plug it in to a wall outlet, then try. It could be a battery issue where it lacks the power to turn on anything but the led.
Must be nice be your neighbor.. xD Back to topic Maybe its just the screen not working. Why not try checking with flashlight?
You shouldn't really have any problems with the drive if you remember the passphrase or have the keyfile somewhere.
