Hello. I'm still at chapter 100. And I badly want to know, who Grid will be with... Is it Yura or Jishuka...
It doesn't have the tag because harem hasn't happened officially as of yet, it doesn't mean the story won't have a harem later.
Lol "hasn't officially happened yet" He's got an old man harem, a very impressive collective of old men btw His son has the true harem
You trying to say this won't be an interesting story anymore the moment it has a harem in it? Cause I can easily point you to the old man harem that already exists with Braham as the current bro leader.
Harems are not necessarily bad but they are reliable signs of something being bad. Most female characters go downhill the moment they start liking Grid. For hundreds of chapters, until the last few chapters to be honest, Yura was seriously lacking. She went from claiming less than 10 people could reliably defeat her to a silent Grid fan. If it wasn't for Grid she wouldn't have gotten Alex's first(?) gun let alone the legendary magical gun Pagma made for Alex, would have failed to defeat Agnus and acquire swordsmanship of light and so on. Other than Great Demon raids, her every in game scene included mumbling about Grid, receiving Grid's favors, being saved by Grid and failing to prove herself. While it is true that male characters often have similar goals, they are less likely to be damsels in distress. Plus as a main character/love interest both the readers and the public in satisfy compare her to Kraugel and Grid. Long story short, her life had become a footnote in Grid's story and that was her entire personality. Think about it, even her family problems existed solely for Grid to save her. So the harem aspect of the story just made Yura a boring two dimensional character. Recently she is becoming a badass again but Jishuka is still in the same place. Nothing about this is inevitable. It would probably be enough for them to achieve feats instead of going entire character arcs or have Agnus like backstories. They got what it takes to be independent badasses and should aim for becoming powerhouses of the western continent in Satisfy's worldview. Anyway, unlike Grid's future (who is becoming a stereotypical moral shounen protagonist), I am optimistic about their future.
1209 Spoiler Maru may have been weaker than Garam but he was definitely more skilled. If Grid had fought him before the Red Phoenix was resurrected, he would've been far more powerful than Garam. Grid was considering using Duke of Virtue to use Keen Insight. It had been proven before in combat. But as his Fire Incarnation Storm raged, the Earth God skill activated and his opponents became frozen for 10 seconds. This created a perfect opportunity to use a different skill... So he reached out to Piaro and used Pounding Mortar. Piaro had created Fated to Perish, that killed in one instant. But there were enemies who were immune to instant death, so he had developed a different technique. One that would pound them to dust! Maru looked at this human who reminded him of Mir's power. No, Mir was definitely greater. Mir could fully manifest the power of each of the the gods. But even so, for a human to remind him of Mir... No! He couldn't think like this! To think of a human as being like Mir - as being superior to him! If he let himself believe such a thing, he knew that he would no more hope of becoming a God. And yet, he was frozen. And he knew that something dangerous was coming. Staying here would go very badly for him. He used the Breath of the Black Tortoise, and the petrification started to break. But then, the Black Tortoise shot him a dark look and his control over the Breath failed. Restoring him to rock. 'Oh no!' Suddenly though, the petrification was gone. Uggh! Thankfully it was temporary! He looked up... And realized that he really didn't want to be here. It was time to go. But Grid had timed it perfectly... WHAM!! WHAM!! WHAM!! Grid looked at the damage done by the Pounding Mortar... It wasn't as wide as Braham's Meteor. But it was deeper. This was the greatest that he could accomplish now. And you could definitely see the difference between when he came to the East Continent and today. But he was still dissatisfied... It had taken some luck for the opportunity to unleash this max power to arrive. He flew down to where Maru's broken body lay. "To die at the hands, of a human..." He would not allow this! Suddenly, heat started to radiate from his body. And then... KABOOM!!! The Rankers who had been watching, amazed at Grid's massive show of force were shocked. Was Grid dead? Bondre quickly used his ice magic to suppress the burning heat and both he and Bubat ran in. They saw Grid... He was fine. Didn't even look injured. "Grid!" "Were you guys worried about me?" ... That ass. But they were happy that Grid had survived. Especially this time that they were all on the same team. *** A blue light burst out of a mountain and the purest of rain started to fall. It had a restorative and strengthening effect like when the Red Phoenix was restored. Hwang Gildong, that douche!... He had succeeded in resurrecting the Black Tortoise. "Why are you still here?", Grid said at the Black Tortoise next to him. "Because of the interference of an unexpected person, 'we' were resurrected in a divided state. We are two now." "...?" [★ Hidden Quest ★ The contents of <Guardian of the Black Tortoise> will be modified.] ...
So, Hwang Gildong got the water part & Grid got death part. Then black tortoise are no longer bring ruin right?
Ik right, like wtf, who would've thought of that. I have absolutely no idea where this is gonna go. I'm a bit disappointed that grid couldn't get the rewards for reviving either part of the god, Grid with water and fire attacks woulda been cool. Hopefully if they merge together he can get a reward from that. I'm quite curious how he managed the turtle so quickly, I'm assuming he didn't just shove 20 breaths into it
I don’t think that black tortoise will merge, it probably will stay with grid as a part of him like red phoenix or become his 'pet'. Thus, fulfilled black tortoise wish to prevent destruction when it awaken. Btw the quest also has been modified.
Also it could be an reunite both part so they combine again making an whole being and gift to grid part of the dead powers so turtle can be happy by not hurting anyone by mistake ever again since that power is weaker than ever like the Phoenix after giving 9th heart I really whant dead part to be Happy is suffered enought being an good being that cannot do good by itself not matter how hard he tried it really deserve an happy ending
Mir's power and potential now make sense. He can freely become intangible, burn target's mana, control the earth, become invulnerable and do many more things. However Pagma and Hangyeol are likely to be the only yangbans with original skills. It's a shame really since we got more info on the skills of the dukes. If Maru is going to explode like one of the Empire's higher ups he should at least possess a unique power. I just realized Grid should use duke of virtue to exchange stats with Jude. I want to see a genius Jude for two minutes. I want him to discuss philosophy with Sticks and drink finest teas while speaking in Shakespearean English. It'll probably be like the Simpsons episode where Homer becomes a genius. On the flipside, Grid can become immune to illusion magic in exchange for not having the mana to do anything aside from using Braham's boots for a minute.
1210 Spoiler <Guardian of the Hyunmu> ★ Hidden Quest ★ Some unknown person has completed the ritual of resurrection while the Black Tortoise is split in two. Help the two halves of the Black Tortoise reunite. Quest Clear Reward: Black Tortoise shell. Affinity with Black Tortoise will reach maximum Quest Failure: Weakening of the Black Tortoise Deity. The balance of the four kingdoms will collapse. The New Episode <The King of Farewell> will start. ★ When the episode of King Sobyul begins, the myth of the East Continent will be covered up again. Grid was unsure who this new king was, and the effect of the Black Tortoise' return was so far a weak reflection of the return of the Red Phoenix. The stats of the people rose a little. Some were freed of false myths. They developed some enmity for the Hwan Kingdom. This was all because Hwang Gildong stole the other half of the Black Tortoise! Still, he had done well enough. It was just that his timing was off... Or was it? Hwang Gildong knew about the resurrection of the Red Phoenix. He knew what was happening here and who Grid was. He knew that the Black Tortoise' ego was divided in two and he still proceeded with the resurrection. Grid was frustrated. His goal was the resurrect all four of the guardian deities. It appeared that Hwang Gildong's might be something different. The High rankers on the hand were generally pleased with the benefits they got. Bubat told Grid about the quest he'd gotten to rebel against the Yangban and how thanks to Grid, it had turned out well. He had jumped up in the rankings by 31 levels. Bondre on the other hand got straight to the point with his usual bad attitude "Why did you look so annoyed just then? What happened?" Grid sighed and went on to explain what had happened. Unfortunately, Hwang Gildong wasn't necessarily easy to find. Still, Grid thought that if he could talk to him. He could convince him that the fate of the world required that the two halves of the Black Tortoise be reunited. They looked towards Nogma. Who had been a companion of Hwang Gildong... Except that Hwang Gildong had abandoned him here. "Even I can't meet him when I want. He's an extremely suspicious person. But I have worked with him ten times, so I do understand him a little." “….?” "He's probably waiting for you at the mountain." "..!" Grid immediately got on the Overgeared Corn. It was a beautiful creature... Ruined by Grid's horrible naming sense. Grid decided that it was probably better to go on alone and had pleasant goodbyes with the other rankers. Bubat offered to help Grid whenever he might need it. Their guild might not be on the level of Overgeared, but they'd do what they could. Grid thanked them and rode off - with Nogma following. Nogma had a growth class with the potential to become a Legend. He had held his own against Maru for ten minutes, so his potential was great. A forgotten legend would be known again by everyone soon enough. Grid moved fast supported by his unicorn. Nogma managed to keep pace with him on his own... It was something an assassin couldn't do. Assassins were limited in their stamina and strength, whereas Nogma had also shown great strength when fighting Maru. Once they reached Hwang Gildong, Grid would have to face a test. It was Hwang Gildong's habit to test and retest everything. And from what Hwang Gildong's followers had said, HG was on the same level as the Braham they had seen - meaning that he was above Grid. When they arrived, they saw that the place was filled with hundreds of people. Except that they all had the same face and the same name... Hwang Gildong! Even Belial, a Great Demon, hadn't been able to make hundreds of clones! They both had one piece of the Black Tortoise. Grid supported bringing them together to restore the balance. Hwang Gildong on the other hand wanted the faith to be concentrated in the water Tortoise. His only interest in resurrecting the Black Tortoise was to weaken the Yangban. The Four Guardian deities had failed and been defeated before. There was no point in putting faith in them. And the half ego with the power of destruction was a threat to human civilization. It had to be destroyed! Seeing that they were at odds, the hundreds of Hwang Gildong moved. Attacking Grid all at once!
