Well, this question has been in my mind for a long time. Whenever I read novels or movies or see people who say that, they are madly in love, I used to wonder what exactly love is?(here, I am not speaking about motherly love or fatherly love, siblings love). I am speaking about soul partners, whoever they might be. I searched in internet and these are some quotes,I found interesting. "Love is when one person knows all of your secrets, your deepest, darkest secrets, most dreadful secrets of which no one else in the world knows.. And yet in the end, that one person does not think any less of you; even if the rest of the world does." "When you zoom in someone's every pictures and do nothing but only staring at that person and blush." "Love is a choice you make to give to your loved one on a daily basis. In giving you spend your life force, your time and energy into making the other person happy, safe and content. Love spans time and space, and is not dependent upon your physical circumstances. It is the wisdom of heart. Timing is all important in love." "Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It does not dishonour others. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always Hope's, always perseveres. ..." "Love means that u care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be." "Love shouldn't feel circumstantial. It shouldn't feel as if I love you more than you love me or vice versa. There shouldn't be conditions, levels or lesser degrees of love. If there are then whatever you're feeling is something else. Maybe lust, maybe like, maybe comfort - but certainly not love. The effort shouldn't be one-sided; all of the little things can't come from one contributor; and if you hurt, your companion should as well." "Falling in love is easy. But bumping into someone That can spark your soul... Now that is rare." Here are the qns, 1. What is love according to you? 2. Have you felt that love towards someone special? And, Was it reciprocated? 3. What is your opinion about the quotes above? 4. If you don't have anyone in real life, what about the characters in novels, anime or manga? Have you been so crazy in love with a character that you want to be transmigrated to their world or want them to be transmigrated in our world? If you have anything extra to share about this, please do share. This thread is created out of curiosity. Just curious, about what different people feel about love.
Drawing upon my reading experience, I can assert that romantic love is the dog food that single dogs are unwittingly fed.
Love is a momentary delusion caused by our biological urges. Humans are in heat year round so it was bound to happen.
will that feed me? will that pay me a house? will that pay the internet? and what happens to me when the love ends? there is nothing like eternal love.
My blurry understanding of love is that its something intangible, without form. And not all people experience the same kind of love. It's a unique expierence for each individual. Though I can't say the same for materialists.
Love never lasts. Rather, if it does, it's not really that magical. It's nice and warm, for sure, until 3 months goes by and that son of a bitch gets annoying. Love can't feed you, clothe you or house you. Love is nice when you have all your necessities, but I don't have my shit together. No not really. Pretty sure it doesn't exist. It's just comfort and lust. Modern romance don't work like that for sure. Honestly I love anime and manga so much because love is somehow the strongest power in romance anime/manga or whatever. They don't feel realistic, that's why I like love romance in anime. And- not really. I just like witnessing the magic of the characters' relationships from a different dimension. A nice tragedy, or a fluffy story, that's really all it is to me I guess.
1. What is love according to you? Chemicals interacting with each other in our brains. 2. Have you felt that love towards someone special? And, Was it reciprocated? I don't really differentiate 'care' from 'love', so yes. I 'love' my brother and my friends. 3. What is your opinion about the quotes above? Idc about 'em. They are just different perspectives from different people. I agree to disagree with those opinions, I don't think that it works like that but I 'respect' it. “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” - Oscar Wilde. 4. If you don't have anyone in real life, what about the characters in novels, anime or manga? Have you been so crazy in love with a character that you want to be transmigrated to their world or want them to be transmigrated in our world? No I haven't.
Love is being powerless, however, it is beautiful when it's for someone who is prepared to be as powerless as you are.♥
Highest form of love is sacrifice... When you unconsciously sacrifice for someone and you're not even aware of it. Thats the highest form of love. e.g : a mother's love for her child. A mother will unconsciously do anything for her child. So.... Yes. Love is pain..... If you can find a partner who can love you as who you are and willing to sacrifice anything for you dont let him go Ps: you should differentiate between love, care, desire, adoration, and admiration with certainty. Because not anyone aware of that and assume all of that with one word "love".
