Claire, the daughter of a Duke, was supposed to be the best magician in the Kingdom of Noston.

However, the one who awakened extraordinary talent was Claire’s sister—Charlotte.

As such, Claire lost her place and had to part from her own homeland.

It was then when a fateful encounter happened—

—Claire met with the almighty Kingdom of Paft’s First Prince.

It was a story that followed the path of precious friendship.

I read up to chapter 9 of the story. It's so beautiful and enticing. Does anyone have any spoilers for it?
I certainly like a protag that's down to earth.

    Some spoilers from MTL
    - MC's mother may have lied and actually came from the fallen royal family Lindell. Married the father for political protection.
    - MC is truly OP and dealt with an "evil tornado?"
    - MC is being passively and aggressively attacked by the aide of the prince hinted from her cut hair she's an unmarriageable saint that works for another country other than her own; MC shuts it down is all - "you got a lot of time on your hands to meddle in business that doesn't concern you"
    - Charlotte more and more shows off her nastier side after realizing taking over her sister's responsibilities and her fiancee. An example the Prince is basically a cold fish/ android. He's good at managing affairs and work. However, the more humanistic touches came from the MC during the time they were engaged. She also helped the Prince carry the burden by doing a great deal of the paperwork of the student council. All of which the sister Charlotte absolutely hates. She's getting no attention which she craves and thrives on. Then she is being made to actually work.
    - Charlotte actually get it in her head to steal Claire's new fiancee (she didn't know they were engaged but that the ML was engaged)
    - Veik the ML/ First & Crown Prince of the powerful neighboring country - goes to her father and reveals their relationship. Is disgusted by the father and how the people speak of and talk about Claire.
    - Realizes that the father has a complex towards his own daughter and can't stand the fact she is better than he is.
    - The King and the Father tried to block their engagement/marriage; then Claire points out it's stupid/greedy to try to reach out to her since: 1.) they basically cut ties with her 2.) took away all her positions 3.) kicked her out 4.) block an advantageous alliance 5.) didn't they have their own powerful mage in the form of Claire's younger sister charlotte
    - I think something terrible happens and she goes back to Japan where she has the game set to the time when she was 15. She then plans her strategy and not waste any more time and headspace trying to love people who were pretty worthless in loving.

It's still considered a political alliance. They are neighboring countries and the players are of high social status. They need a copacetic understanding that this would become a political tool for both countries for equal beneficence. At least the King to get on board. They don't care about the shitty dad.

    To expand above,

Claire purified something like a magic tornado that was forming above the capital of Pafit (the powerful neighboring country), averting disaster and becoming somewhat of a hero in the country. Her mother was also confirmed to be the last princess of Lindell, and she was adopted by Claire's grandmother.

Another noble house, the Meades, in the country she fled to was scheming against Veik and the royal family, they have a special ability that lets them "share" mana pools with another person, which effectively lets them use that person's mana. After Claire purifies the tornado, Dion Meade tries to steal her mana pool, but she has so much more mana it backfires and instead she can use the mana pool of the would be thief.

To set up the following bit, Charlotte was using her magic to slightly warp peoples' minds to get them to view her favorably and turn against Claire. It was like a light form of brainwashing where she planted the seeds of doubt regarding Claire and then manipulated them by playing the poor abused sister.

Veik gets engaged to Claire and they travel back to Claire's home country to try to build ties and because optimally he would get their blessings for the marriage, as it could cause tensions with them if he didn't. He's disgusted by the way the king and Claire's father talk about her, and his knights note the magic affecting their minds.

Meanwhile Charlotte decides that she doesn't like the Prince of Noston so much after he became busy and started noticing her true self, and so decides to steal Veik; she doesn't know Claire is his fiancee but believes she can just use her magic to brainwash him. Veik's knights usually have protective spells on him, but it's considered rude and as viewing the other country as untrustworthy if either party has them active while conversing with another country's royalty, so they aren't active on him. After Charlotte finds out Claire is Veik's fiancee, she embarrasses herself several times with her selfishness and then manipulates Noston's king and her father into disagreeing with the marriage, partially because they found out about Claire's super powerful magic. When that only succeeds in pissing off Veik, she blatantly attempts to brainwash him. Ryui activates magic that effectively redirects everything to her and nullifies it, but it also causes severe backlash and causes a near-lethal injury that can only be cured by Pafit's High Priest and only in a very short timeframe. Keith leaps in to prepare to defend them, and Claire teleported them back to Pafit to save Ryui - for some reason I didn't understand, Keith is left behind.

Relations between the countries degrade as Noston says they'll only release Keith if Claire is returned to them (as they want her now very strong magic). Claire doesn't want Noston and Pafit to have bad relations as she still cares for her home country. She somehow uses her magic to "reset the game" and go back to a bit before her first baptism. She also wants to try to change things so her sister won't be such a bitch, thinking that it's the game's settings that caused it.

She repeats things mostly the same, but when her baptism occurs Claire suggests that Charlotte be the one engaged to the Prince instead and recommends for her father to hire a tutor to prepare Charlotte as a princess. Apparently this offsets a lot of the resentment and such that her "low" power caused originally and so virtually everyone treats her better than they did in the past after the baptism. Claire learns that some noble house is attempting to destroy the pool she needs for her baptism in Lindell and worries a bit, and it's hinted that Asbert still loves Claire instead of Charlotte.

Her father sends her to Pafit's royal academy around a year or two earlier than when she left before, and her brother escorts her there. They stop in Lindell first, where Claire stealthily baptised herself again before the pool could be destroyed and meets Veik and co. Veik again basically falls in love with her at first sight and invites her to travel in his carriage the whole way to Pafit.

Claire finds out Veik has a brother, Oswald, who she knew nothing about. Turns out he attempted to poison Veik in an attempt for the throne and was executed in the previous timeline. Dion Meade comes to the royal academy way too early and reveals to Claire that through their mana connection he remembers the previous timeline as well. He mentions how his family was involved in Lindell and were hunting for Claire's mother without knowing it was Claire's mother.

This pissed Claire off and she inadvertently used magic that charmed Dion into admiring Claire and wanting to live a free life like Claire is now, not beholden to his family. Claire is super worried about it and tries to undo it even with Dion saying he prefers it this way, but Ryui says only the High Priest might be capable of removing it and it could cause a scandal for Claire if word gets out. Dion has a notably more outgoing personality and Claire wonders if his gloomy/serious personality before was a result of all the stressful expectations of his family and deeds he didn't want to do suppressing his natural personality.

Dion works with Veik and Claire to reveal his family's, Oswald's, and another family's plotting against the throne that ends with Dion's father and grandfather, Oswald, and the other family's heads executed with the rest of their relatives exiled.

Claire and Dion reveal the secret of the previous timeline to Veik and co., to which they believe Claire and it doesn't negatively affect their friendship.

A few snippets show that Charlotte is still an evil cunt, and hint that she may also have knowledge about the game as when Claire tries to help her after the initial baptism Charlotte wonders what the hell is going on. Later, Charlotte also reveals that it's harder to get people to like her, because without the strict and intelligent Claire around Charlotte's weak and abused act doesn't hold water. She also can't wait to get her magic, the way she phrased it makes it sound like she knows how strong it will be and is looking forward to use it for brainwashing even in the second timeline.

Nothing like making an entirely new person and claiming they're from a within kingdom family to solve that problem.

Wait how come the lindell pool was in danger this time? Was it from the guy that's linked with her?

Also dang Charlotte a pretty big bitch.

Thank you for spoilers lazy and anon

Yeah, Dion was attempting to prevent her from gaining her magic capabilities so that his family's revolution would succeed. He also showed up to school early to attempt to become friends with Veik so he could sabotage Claire and Veik's relationship; he didn't expect Claire to also show up early.

At the latest chapter as of this post (68), not much. Nicola took on a larger part in the story to an extent - Nicola is Veik's cousin, the daughter of a Duke, and had wanted to be engaged with Veik. I believe she showed up for a very short period in the first timeline, and while she was slightly antagonistic towards Claire (again in the second timeline as well), most characters saw it as 'cute' because it was a well-known 'secret' that she's tsundere.

She doesn't try to break up Claire and Veik because she can tell that Veik loves Claire, and her father allows her to study abroad in Noston in the second timeline so that Nicola will hopefully get over him (either because of how Claire and Veik get along or due to power dynamics with his family and the royal family; it might have been a combination of these, not entirely certain). Nicola had wanted to study abroad for a while to broaden her knowledge and be of more help to Veik when (she hoped) they were engaged, but she also still wanted to study abroad for the experiences even after accepting they wouldn't be engaged. She and Claire and up becoming friends before Nicola heads to Noston, and Claire sends a letter to Asbert asking him to help Nicola out and gives Nicola some advice. Pafit also opens a magic door - essentially a portal - between Noston and Pafit for easy transportation for nobles between the countries after some negotiations; it requires significant magic use each time someone goes through it, so it's still not very viable for commerce or mass transport. Even so, it's a security risk which is why it required the negotiations.

Charlotte's true personality becomes more revealed to the servants at her house, the people at school, and Asbert and so everyone is starting to distance themselves from her. Charlotte is convinced that once she gets her magic, she'll be able to reverse the course of peoples' opinions. Meanwhile, Charlotte loses the top-tier dorm that used to be Claire's, because now that a foreign princess is studying in Noston she gets the best room in the girls' dorm. Claire tells Asbert in her letter that Nicola behaves similar to Charlotte and asks him to be patient with her, but Asbert finds her to be more similar to Claire and seems to be growing closer to Nicola (it's revealed that Nicola admires and is trying to emulate Claire, as in her mind Claire is the model of 'a foreign student'). It seems fairly likely that Nicola and Asbert will end up together, which is kind of fitting (Duke's daughter from Noston [Claire] + [Veik] Prince from Pafit, Duke's daughter from Pafit [Nicola] + [Asbert] Prince from Noston).

Aside from that, there are just a few things interspersed even in the previous spoilers, like Veik immediately believing Claire when she told him about the past timeline, them revisiting Veik's favorite location in the city (and Claire recounting the first time they went there in the previous timeline), and some moments of Veik being a little jealous regarding Dion and Claire while she's writing/receiving letters from Asbert.

So I don't usually like back-to-back posts, but the novel's main story ended at chapter 75 in the past few days. The author did say they plan to inconsistently publish some extra chapters.

Charlotte ends up being confined to house arrest under the pretense of an 'illness leave' after she's discovered plotting to get Nicola kicked out from Noston's royal academy. Asbert talks to the King of Noston about officially ending his engagement with Charlotte by inviting Nicola to be his partner for the graduation party, and the King agrees after Charlotte's recent behavior. When Asbert visits the Martino house to tell Charlotte, Charlotte shows him the new dress she had made for the graduation party and is acting like the 'illness leave' is actually just a way for her to get out of schoolwork, so she's pretty stunned when he tells her that she's not coming to the graduation party with him.

Meanwhile Veik and Claire are planning a short vacation to a place where a bunch of nobles have villas. Charlotte ends up walking out of the doorway-portal because she essentially used it to escape, and there are worries about international relations over this as it wasn't planned or communicated, and a person with white-level magic power is potentially a significant threat. Charlotte ends up accompanying Veik and Claire (+ the 4 knights and Dion) on their vacation, where she tries to play the 'I was abused by Claire but am poorly hiding it' act, though it obviously doesn't work on Veik. She also claims she came through the doorway because she wanted to see Claire so much, because they're still family even if Claire 'treated her like that'.

While on the vacation, Claire and Veik talk about the potential of having to use Dion's ability on Charlotte to keep her in check. Veik invites Isabelle, who's the daughter of a new Baron family that Claire tutored in the previous timeline, to his villa so that Claire can meet her again. Isabelle is around 13, and Claire had to tutor her previously because as a new noble family they were being somewhat shunned; Isabelle and her family are all great people. Her family essentially had Claire live with them as a guest and Isabelle viewed her as an older sister after she was tutoring her for a few months. So Claire and Isabelle start getting to know each other again, and Charlotte is silently fuming because she's not the focus of the conversation. Claire also invites Isabelle to come to the royal palace where Claire will give her tutoring lessons.

Veik asks Charlotte to accompany him outside for a talk, and Charlotte readily agrees as she plans to try to brainwash Veik during this time. She's talking to Veik when at some point she grasps his hand and says something along the lines of 'Claire is an enemy and you should get rid of her' while using her magic; Veik easily resists it because of her lack of training and his blessings or something and has her apprehended. This was actually Veik's plan, to give Charlotte an opening and create a valid reason for them to use Dion's ability to seal her magic, as this is otherwise a crime that could be considered treason against the royal family and result in execution like with Veik's brother Oswald.

When the group gets back to Pafit's capital, the King of Noston, Prince Asbert, Duke Martino, Claire's brother Oscar, and Claire's aunt Anne are there as they've heard about Charlotte taking the door with nobody knowing. When Veik arrives, her tells them that Charlotte attempted to brainwash him, and almost everyone except Duke Martino believes it almost immediately despite Charlotte claiming the opposite. It seemed like Charlotte then attempted to claim that Isabelle was the one who tried to brainwash Veik and Charlotte was just protecting him, but this fails when Veik reveals that Isabelle is only 13 years old (so she can't have been baptized and as such hasn't unlocked her magic yet).

As such, Dion seals her magic power and they inform the group from Noston about that, to which they generally accept it. Duke Martino declares that Charlotte will go to a monastery in the north, presumably the one Claire was originally trying to reach, to try to reform her personality. Anne tells Claire that she doesn't have the power left to open the door back to Noston again, so right before the group leaves Claire tells them she has something to say. Asbert says that he's aware Claire traveled all the way to Pafit with Veik (with the implication that he thought Claire was going to talk about her and Veik), and Oscar says that must be why the King of Pafit gave Charlotte such a relatively light sentence. Claire blushes and says it's not that, then talks about where her and Oscar's mother was actually born and suggests he get rebaptized like she did.

They realize that this means she probably has stronger magic than pink, which she admits to. Her brother is relieved because he was worried if she would have the 'status' to marry Veik given her apparently-low magic, while Asbert realizes that it was largely because Claire wanted the doorway that it was made, and Nicola studying in Noston was just a convenient excuse. The King of Noston says that he'll keep Charlotte's scandals a secret for the sake of the Martino family, but they'll make Oscar the official heir to the family (I think).

Next it's a two month time skip to the day when the magic tornado forms, and with her increased magical prowess Claire was able to purify it without falling unconscious. When she goes to the King of Pafit so he can thank her, she realizes that Veik is in more formal attire and that his knights are here when they weren't before. Veik asks for the King to be his witness and the kneels and asks for Claire to become his princess, to which she accepts.

I haven't read the side stories/extra chapters yet, so it's possible that it happens in one of them, but I don't think so. Given the potential inaccuracies that come with machine translation, as far as I remember only Dion (aside from Claire herself) had his own actual memories of the first timeline.

You know, I loved this story a lot more then I initially thought I would. Even when I thought it'd lose me with time travel half way through I really liked it.

That said, I still have this uneasy feeling while readying it. Like watching a three hour long movie that was cut down to two hours for theaters. Sure, you have all the important plot points but you can definitely feel the absence of that extra fluff that adds to the story and makes the world feel more tangible.

Ah! I got it! It feels like nothing happens in the world outside of what the Claire and Veik are doing, with the possible exceptions being Ryui, Keith, and Doni. Like, I know for this to be a functioning world things have to be happening elsewhere but it never really feels like that's happening.

Ngl I'm not very happy with Charlotte's ending
