Yeah she's right. I'm not condoning polygamy, personally I don't like that. But that's not cheating. Polygamy is legal practice in this era setting. It's not cheating, just political tool imo.
I doubt the ML is the prince. A) In the latest translated chapter it seems like MC and Odeletta (will become crown princess) will become friends. Regardless of the setting, MC will have the same opinion as us as regards to becoming the side chick of the husband of someone she genuinely likes and respects. B) This duke guy has been brought up. So far the running theme has been that people who were villains in the original novel are actually good/admirable people who’s only sin is being in Dorothea’s way. The cute sister brought the Duke up as a potential marriage partner, and it was mentioned that he was a villain in the original novel. So if she becomes friends with Odeletta it makes sense thematically if the Duke is the ML. I can’t say for sure, but right now the signs are pointing to this Duke guy being ML. We’ll probably be introduced to him at some point during the ball. EDIT: At this late date I feel I need to point out that I was absolutely wrong in my conjectures and others have properly spoiled that the prince is the ML. So much for my trope analysis.
Okay so the latest chapter was just updated and it said the crown prince has silver hair and blue eyes like the guy on the cover soooo I guess he’s the male lead, also her friend is so fake omg
From what I read, Dorothe became a concubine not because of her tittle is low but because her family's title was new obtained (the title was given because they were rich) so the king and some nobles did not agree if Dorothe became the crown princess, and also because of Dorothea's attitude of course. In other cases Maristella's family was an old nobleman, maybe because of that Maristella had the chance to become the crown princes
I just jumped to the final chapter a little while ago. It seems Odelleta will have a relationship with Dillton, he is the crown prince's right hand ( it looks like he is the crown prince's assistant) he is also a childhood friend of Odelleta
Rival of the 'heroine' Dorothea, She asked in one of the latest chaps Martistella to become friends. Edit: She became in the original story the crown princess
Some spoiler ~~ this is after the first meeting with the prince (Xavier) Spoiler: Invitation to the palace Maristella (M) was invited to the Prince's palace. In the palace, she saw the prince (X) and was like "How does he make everything seem like a fashion show no matter what he’s wearing?" They're talking about the compensations (In the palace when they first met, she accidentally spilled the wine to his clothes, and using her handkerchief to cleaned it). Basically the prince wanted to give her new handkerchief, and she wanted to pay for the cleaning. She was oblivious that X tried to get to know her and asked her fave things. She innocently asked X, whether he already has someone he wanted to marry. X choked his tea, and asked why. M said that she wanted to introduce Odelleta since she's beautiful and a good person. X looks unhappy and just gave a general feedback that he heard about her (Odelleta) before and tried to changed the topic~~ X asked her to go to the garden. He tried to find out what she likes, and she said she likes macaroons. So X said, is that okay if he offers macaroon for her to bring back home. X also asked M whether she would like to come to the palace from time to time, since he doesn't have anyone to talk to. M feel pity (since she has sister but he is the only child), so she is like "of course, as long as I don't bother you". The conversation between them were so funny. She's soo oblivious. I feel pity for Xavier.
I guess as she consider herself nothing but a side character she doesnt even consider the Crown Prince is courting her indirectly. All she has on her mind is letting Odelleta have the spot light so that Ode wont become the villain but rather have the love of the guy she loves. I wonder if Odelleta really likes the Crown Prince in this timeline!
and how do you know it wasn't consensual at all? have you read the book? if you have, share some spoilers, will you?
