Spoiler: Chapter 26-30 Part I

Lydia at first doesn't hear Marr's comment about missing flowers, as she is still flustered. Her mind is in a whirlwind when Marr calls out "Come here, master."

Lydia freaks and yells at him to stop calling her that but ends up obeying him anyways much to her chagrin.

By the time she gets to him she is distracted as she see him point to an area of the flower bed. Lydia is curious how he knows there are flowers are missing and Marr informs her he's been counting each bulb since they've been caring for the garden together. Lydia then teases Marr about how he must love these star flowers because he's so meticulous. Marr quips "how does the master know that?" which sets Lydia into an embarrassed frenzy again and this time she demands he call her by her first name. He reluctantly does. (too many cute moments here..)

Lydia kneels down over to the empty flower bed area and takes a sharp trowel too exam the soil, she puts some in her hand and notices there is a strange sweet scent embedded in the dirt which makes her want to smell more (uh-oh). She quickly calls Mar about her discovery and raises her hand with the soil to Marr. Marr bends over to smell.

Suddenly Lydia is yanked and grabbed fiercely by her wrist. The motion was so violent that Lydia who had the sharp trowel in her hand accidentally cuts herself and cuts Marr on the cheek. Marr asks very coldly what did she do?

Lydia shocked at who is standing in front of her is not the Marr she knows stammers that it's the soil and asks Marr what is wrong. Marr shaken and realizing his behavior quickly lets her go. Lydia still confused about Marr's behavior hears Marr mention whom ever stole the flowers must have drop some perfume onto the soil. Lydia and Marr realizes they now have a thief wondering outside the castle.

Spoiler: Chapter 26-30 Part II

Lydia notices the cut she gave him was still bleeding. Panicking that she's going to ruin his wonderfully beautiful face she grabs him and says we've got to take care of your wound. Marr notices that Lydia is also wounded as her hand is cut from the trowel too. He quickly apologizes saying it's his fault and she smiles telling him it will be okay as his face is more important. He gives her an odd look.

Realizing she doesn't have the proper medicine she quickly decides they need to head over to Tulip castle to where Princess Yurishina is!

They arrive at Tulip castle and Lydia wonders why there isn't any servants around. She really needs the medicine for Marr so they head over to the servants entrance to see if they can find Yurishina. As Lydia gets to the top of the stairs Marr pulls her into his arms against the wall to silence her as voices can be heard ahead.

Lydia realizes it's Yurishina and the (fake) emperor are talking and they're talking intimately.

Lydia transform into a giddy fan girl as she's thinking 'OMG OMG..it's happening! ..the secret romantic relationship between the heroine an emperor (from the novel) is broadcasting live right now!'

Lydia can't contain her joy as she pushes a very confused and perplex Marr into a shadowed area where they both sit and listen. Excited as the conversation gets more romantic Lydia ends up whispering a quote from the novel and then Yurishina says the quote out loud (way too funny! ch28-29). As they're listening, they hear emperor kiss Yurishina and Lydia grabs Marr's arm with tears of joy. Both watch in the shadows as Yurishina and the emperor leave Tulip castle to head to the imperial palace.

Spoiler: Chapter 26-30 Part III

They get medicine for their wounds and Marr asks why Lydia is so pleased with the emperor liking Yurishina. She explains that once Yurishina becomes the empress she'll make sure that all the concubines will be released and that's a good thing because Lydia will be free to leave the city and Marr will probably be free since the Emperor will be generous with Yurishina as his wife. Lydia is excited that Marr can escape which will make it easier for Marr to come see her.

Marr does not look please. Lydia looks at him perplex and wonders what's wrong with him. She tries to reassure Marr it's a good thing and that she knows the emperor likes white. Marr looks at her and says what?!? where did you hear he likes white. She doesn't reveal the Maid Sarah but tells him she over heard this and that's the reason Lydia is starting to wear black or opposite colors as to not capture his attention. Marr grits his teeth saying "Because you're not interested in the emperor's tastes.." Lydia says of course not.

Spoiler: Chapter 26-30 Part IV

We're back at the Emperor's office and there is a irritated but contemplating Marquez sitting at his desk.

Jamie walks into the office and shocked when Marquez sarcastically mentions Jamie such a good actor acting so lovey-dovey. Jamie flushes embarrassed and realizes Marquez knows about the meeting he had with Yurishina. He quickly recovers to tell him it was all part of what Marquez had authorized him to do. Marquez asks if he's found out the secret yet and Jamie informs him that Yurishina says there is a family called Terrians in Periland who make the perfume but know one knows how and they have a metaphor that 'sadness is the only way to understand scents'.

Marquez recognizes that family as he recalls how they fought fiercely with him before the fall of the kingdom.
Jamie suggests to Marquez to use Yurishina to order the Terrians to come forth. Marquez asks how and Jamie says make her your empress.

Marquez rejects the idea and Jamie starts to stutter and going about explaining why his idea is the best approach when Marquez suddenly stops him raising his hand. Marquez becomes thoughtful and then Jamie watches as a wicked smile appears on Marquez's face and he tells Jamie, alright, "I'll pick the Empress."

Jamie is so pleased as Marquez is scribbling his decision on a scroll with his seal and signature, hands him the scroll tell him to post immediately. Jamie excitedly reaches for the scroll and as he reads it he turns pale --- "Your Majesty, Your Majesty! This is!"

Marquez jumps out of the window and leaves.

(Note there some really funny moments going on in Marquez's head about Lydia)

Spoiler: Chapter 26-30 Part V

It's been a few days since the Tulip castle incident and Lydia is waiting for the formal announcement between the Princess Yurishina and the emperor to rock the land.

It's raining and suddenly there is a knock at her castle doors. Outside appears formal servants all dress in luxurious clothing signaling they're from the royal palace. A man appears in front of Lydia with a large golden scroll and announces that a contest to select the next empress will commence and that all concubines must participate.

Lydia confused is like what!?

Then the man says on by the way, you can't refuse this command.

A shocked Lydia then sees her flower shop, her dreams of independence suddenly going down in flames.

Spoiler: Chapter 26-30 Part VI

Later that day - Lydia is absolutely confused as she had already witness the romantic interlude between Yurishina and the emperor so why the heck would he hold an Empress contest?! This isn't part of the novel!

Marr is watching her pace back and forth innocently. Lydia looks at Marr wondering why he's so calm doesn't he care about his friend's predicament? If he was truly her friend he would help think of way to get her out of this.

Marr asks her why she so dead against being the empress and Lydia explains that she doesn't know anything about him and why would a blood-thirty tyrant want her as she doesn't even know how to flirt. Marr begins comfort Lydia by telling her complementary stories about the Emperor and he's not as bad she think he is. (LMAO)

Lydia feels somewhat better but her thoughts start to drift and she thinks about her tastes in a partner. She absentmindedly tells Marr that she desires a different kind of person one who is thoughtful, affectionate yet wields power and can command. She then gets embarrassed revealing this when Marr suddenly says, "What if the emperor has your tastes?"

Lydia confused wonders how an emperor can suddenly transform to her dream man. Seeing a flustered Marr who can't explain and getting more confused by the minute, Lydia looks at Marr for a moment suddenly confesses to Marr looking at his beautiful face without thinking that if she had to describe her dream man, he would be 'at least be like you.'
....

...alright folks...back to long work days for me so my postings will be erratic....

Yes I so agree to the above comment. They're really a cute couple and this novel needs to be translated, it's a hoot! There are more hilarious moments coming up.

 

Thanks so much! The translations are moving slowly but steady so your spoilers really help with the wait! Can't wait to hear more happy/cute moments. Hoping that they eventually marry and have kids! If you eventually get to the part where Lydia (FINALLY) figures out Marr's (REAL) identity I think we would all squeal and die happy lol (Here's to hoping it's soon!) I'm still really hoping Yurishina isn't a "villain"

 

Just a warning it is awhile before she knows he's the emperor so there is a lot of "comedy of errors" incidents due to this between Jamie, Yurishina, Marquez , and Lydia.

 

I expected that but I do hope we get something of a recognition (i mean how dense can you be girll...)before ch 100 or near the end and BAM side stories lol (it would suck for her to know the truth then short and quick happy ending > side story > no more content) lol

Heh - He remembers Lydia mentioning how Yurishina will free all the concubines and then he gets really ticked off that she wants to leave the palace before the Emperor (He) can. He's basically going off in in his head, how dare she leave me!? (LOL) He doesn't see how irrational he is about her really wanting to leave him so he concocts the Empress Contest idea. It gets funnier later. Marr's thoughts are starting to pretty much revolve around Lydia from this point on.

 

Couldn't wait for more funny misunderstanding between their relationship!!esp Marr's struggle hoho

I got impatient and opened the first side story. Just confirmed that they are the CUTEST

Spoiler: First side story

If I'm not wrong the name of this side story is "the wedding night"
It begins with Lydia sitting in a bathtub while maids are surrending her excitedly. One of them asks her if she's looking forward to it? (to their first night) and she shyly replies yes. But it's actually not their first time becaus she's already pregnant!
So yeah she was sitting on the bed wearing a black night gown, thinking how should she tell Marr about this. Then Lydia notices the wine bottle behind her and decides to drink it. Not long after Mar comes and without missing a second huggs her.
After a brief greeting they start kissing. While Lydia was losing her mind, she tries to push him away and tells him to drink the wine instead, since she has something to say. He does as she tells but not long after he threw her on the bed and went on top of her. He looked at her gown and whispered "...so pretty."
Then he took off his robe and Lydia could feel his muscles under her palm. She thought to herself that she couldn't see him for a few day, so did he get cooler during this time? Marr laughed slightly and asked if she likes it. She was startled so she just answered yeah. Marr laughed again and said "Good for you!"
He looked at her as if he was going to swallow her completely. He hugged her waist and took off her gown and underwear at the same time. She figured if they continued she couldn't tell him about her pregnancy so she wrapped the blanket around herself and got off the bed. Marr looked sullen. He instantly apologized for scaring her. After a few moments Lydia came back to her senses and sat behind him again. He leand his head on her shoulder and then she began talking. "This place, don't you think it's too wide for us?" He said he'll bring back some princess I dunno (sorry it was MTL)
She said not that. They needed someone who could live with them in their home. He said why do they need to do that? (he's absolutely clueless about it lmao) after conversing a bit more Lydia sighs and puts his hand on her stomach. She says maybe someone who's in here.. (She meant her child in her stomach)
But Marr thinks she's talking about assassins in the room so he jumps over her and shouts "Stay still! It's dangerous!"
Lydia tries to slip out of his hands with a face that doesn't know to laugh or cry. When she sees how confused he is She just shouts "We're having a baby!"
Then the scene changes to Marr sitting in his office with a doctor named Tyrins in front of him. Tyrins was thinking about how the empress (Lydia) described the emperor. A very kind and gentle man with soft eyes. But what was in front of him was the exact opposite! He noticed the emperor must act like that only when he's with his beloved empress.

MTL sucked for this part so I didn't get much, but what I did understand was: Marr's not human. He's a Lycan (I dunno what it is) Tyrins explained about the difficulties of bearing a Lycan child for a human mother as Marr ordered him to. It seems that the full moon is so effective on the growth of the child. Marr then says "It was that night..."
Tyrins was confused. He didn't know what the emperor was talking about so he said pardon? Marr was so cold that he thought maybe he doesn't like the idea of being a father so he asked "Your higness? Is there a problem?" But Marr soon replied no so Tyrins thought he must be worried since it's his first child. Once again Marr said something like "After that night..." and the doctor thought he must mean that the child-making-mission happened in a full moon night. (Because Marr also mentioned moon earlier) Which will make the baby a very powerful one and it might cause problems for the empress. He was worrying how to deal with this serious problem when Marr asked "We've been sleeping together several times since then, isn't it dangerous for the empress?"
And Tyrins answered "Ah, it's all right. As I said, Lycan's child is different from the average human child. If you're very strong and under the power of the moon, chances are high that the early days of extreme caution have passed in a flash. So once a few days or so should be fine."
There was no problem, but the hardened emperor's face showed no sign of being untied. Tyrins modified his words instinctively. "Once a day is also fine..." Embarrassed, he began to search his memory like lightning, wondering if he had made a mistake. Just then, a low voice came out. "What if it's more?"
"Yes?"
More than that? No way. This man??
However, the atmosphere was not too good to say such a thing with that expression.
"Ha, m-maybe two or three times a day?"
He was afraid he misunderstood the compulsion of having to answer, and that he must've crossed the subject.
but then...
"Six times."
"...hah?"
"It's an average number, and sometimes it's more than that. Is it okay?"
...What did he just hear?
