It says there are only 1394 chapters, but qidian just put out more chapters with a title that ends with x/8 meaning there will be eight more chapters after the supposed ending. Is this side-story cannon or just made up by the translator or something? Cause I don't see a 1394 Chapters + 8 Side Story in the NU page of this novel.
Just started it. Reached Ch. 10. Very rough. Not sure if it's bad translation, or the writing is really bad at this point.
Just continue it bro, it's the best novel in webnovels imo, the story building and the intricacies are well developed unlike normally
Alright, I guess it's like anti-Reverend Insanity/Gu Master. Reverend Insanity/Gu Master started great but became worse over time.
Reached Ch. 30. It’s much much better after the info dump chapters around Ch. 20. The SoL part felt so real. Probably came from the author’s personal experience.
Reverend insanity just got better and better over time. At first the MC was too good at predicting other people, that was toned down. Ren zu was initially boring and annoying, then it became plot relevant. Moments of awesome started to accumulate... and there were times where I was actually floored by how clever it was. There is really no other xianxia story like it
Finished the 1st volume. I can see why people like it. But I don’t like the overly-detailed occult rituals. And I don’t find the “banter”/jokes between the characters as funny. The author certainly thinks the are funny though. But overall the positives outweigh the negatives. I just skipped the boring parts.
The translator sure loves the word “lampoon”. I don’t think that’s an accurate translation. But what do I know.
I’m at the middle of volume 2. Honestly the social commentary part is weaksauce. Very surface level. And “courting death” is very out of place. Luckily it doesn’t show up every other paragraph like “lampoon”.
Indeed, lampoon showed way too much in early volumes. Later, it was replaced by some other word and although it wasn't "annoying" it did bother me a bit. poignant onion rings
Done with Vol.2. It's good. I'd guess the next few volumes are even better considering the rabid fanbase. Just a question. Any explanation why the last few volumes have fewer and fewer chapters? Some drama with Qidian and CCP?
