Discussion Bad adaptations

Another bad movie adaptation of my childhood thst comes to mind is Alex rider. I don't think the series is thst well known tho

I liked the charm and style of the earlier movies. 1,2 and 4 being being the best of the lot. 3 was a mess with the time turner shenanigans. 6 was just dull and dreary. 7 and 5 were alright.

Most likely the best choice. I'm just a bit biased towards The Hobbit so it effects my opinion

 

Well, the only book I read was Goblet of Fire, so I couldn't react badly to the first ones~

I didn't even know an animated one existed! xD

Ah, I felt it was fun~

You should read the earlier ones. I think the quality was definitely the best in the first three, although I’ve seen people say that the fourth is the best. The third was my favorite.

 

There are a handful. I remember the Rurouni Kenshin Live Action was quite decent~

And honestly, I read LotR and watched the movies and... The movies were great. They basically took all the annoying parts of the books out and made something dynamic out of a deadly slow book. I genuinely prefer the movies over the books for LotR~

Ah, I have a personal bias against JK due to some stuff she said, so I refuse to read any of her books these days.

I'd do it if you told me that 10 years ago though~

 

There's a boat load of bad Video Game movies too: Blood Reign, Postal, Max Payne, Assassin's Creed, Rampage, Hitman, DOOM, Double Dragon, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation...

The first Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Mario Bros. as well but they fall into the "So bad they're good" category for me.

 

I remember watching a Chun Li street fighter movie... That one was baaaaad~

Great Teacher Onizuka TV was good.

I've heard good things about Kenshin Live action and the western Alita movie.

Keep in mind that most anime shows are remakes of manga and LN.

 

I think it's not out yet but last i heard modern day weapons, military and dimension traveling seems like a strong red light.

 

Ralph Baski version of the Hobbit. There's also the comic adaptation of the Hobbit written by ChucknDixon, who was the creator of Bane and the most prolific writer in the history of American comics.

 

DBZ evolution was utter trash, I watched a little then started skimming through it for a bit to make sure it was all shit. I thanked my lucky stars afterwards for not wasting more of my time on it. I didn’t even bother with the last air bender cause it looked like crap from the trailer

 

Not bad, but I was greatly underwhelmed by Howl's Moving Castle, since I loved the book so much and several of Miyazaki's movies. Moussaka definitely let then current events distract him.

Ditto for the Golden Compass.

Ai-chan laughs in Honor Harrington.

Ai-chan never been one who reads a story where the protagonist is a self-proclaimed genius. Ai-chan just knows it's blatant self-insert. That being said, ruining kiddy novels has been the norm for over a decade now. You should've kept your expectations low.
