The definition will depend on culture. Loosest will be Parents, Siblings, Children, Grand Parents, Grand Children. Moderate will have uncles, aunts, Step Families (Including step aunts/uncles), First cousins Hard will involve every blood relations - cousins. For my culture, even cousin marriage of any sort (no matter what number of that cousin is) is considered Incest. This is weird because South Korea is one of the culture with extreme hard take on incest and harshest of them treatment wise, while this is set in ancient korea and basically falls in their definition of incest per to say, I guess argument can be that now FL clan name is Dang instead Eon, but doesnt really help the fact that FL and ML have half blood of Eon Family in them. (PS for ancient asian cultures, all ur clanmates of your ages are considered your cousins, because branch families are made of people who are not able to inherit main family - like Two brothers, Eldest takes on main family, second can follow eldest or open his branch family under the main family , thus unless branch families are adopted/absorbed they are normally sharing same blood with main families, just lower status due to non inheritance) But you can ignore me, I just found it interesting. Since outside adult stuff, Incest hinting even is rarely seen in Korean stuff, especially with blood relations (Step ones are often used tho).
I just put up a pickup request for the novel hopefully someone picks it up. https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/im-a-martial-art-villainess-but-im-the-strongest.119150/
Well, I might be wrong but if iirc incest was pretty common in Korea during the Three Kingdoms era among nobles and royalty. There was royal intermarriage practice in Silla, because the succession was limited only to the so-called seonggol ("sacred bone"). So to maintain their "pure" royal pedigree, the crown princes/kings married their paternal cousins or even their sisters. I beleive that was the main reason why most Queens at that time could not bear heirs and there were many illegitimate children of concubines who would acquire the throne in the end. So yeap marriage between relatives is pretty bad. In my culture, we cannot marry any relative up to the 7th degree. That's why we have to know ancestors going back seven generations and the name of our lineage.
That is reeeally interesting, and based on this I believe in the spoiler: Spoiler: Spolier that someone said that he is really not a branch member of the Eon family. That would makes sense. I think they said he was the younger brother of the emperor?. Well if he not share blood with her it would be really great
In my country marrying your cousin is not considered incest and sometimes preferred so even if he was a cousin I wouldn't really mind. then again it's my own viewpoint
I'm jumping in to clarify the branch family situation -- The main and branch family system can be incredibly complicated of a family tree situation. You could be a branch family member that split off from a second or third child from a main branch split hundreds of years ago. Or a daughter was married into another family a long time ago. They're called branch families because they are subservient to the main branch of direct descendants, and they have a common ancestor, but it's not exactly a close blood relationship if that common ancestor was hundreds of years ago. Especially if there has been enough time for the branch family to have developed a different style of martial arts. The ML and FL are "technically related" but wouldn't really count as incest because they're probably <1% related by blood at this point. Depending on when ML's mother's family (since there was a spoiler earlier about ML being child of the emperor, I assume the mother is the relation) split, it's a very small degree of blood relation. Incest refers to sexual relations with a "closely related" blood relation. There are multiple degrees of separation here so it's not incest.
In the latest chapter the guy calls him king and it seems like he’s related to the royal family somehow, so are they actually cousins or not?
Spoiler: ML He is some 'King Heon' but he is more a Prince i think?? But it could be that someone stoled his positions or that his or someone else life was in danger(??), cause he left the royal palace 'for the sake of his majesty' sorry for my english(~‾—‾)~
OMG is he really the prince?!is he the next in line for the throne? It really made me smile when he was trying to say Haewon
Ikr! Mannnn I was like I mean tf R-R-R-ROYALTY?!?!?!! Holy shit! That's what I'm talking about babe! Now there ain't even 0% chance of that ex-fiance shit of her to be the ML
Honestly I hope he just takes over her Grandfather’s clan because if he goes back to being royalty then won’t he have to take concubines for sure too? Didn’t our Haewon dissed Namgoong Jiha for having 7 concubines later ? Anyway.. the part where Haewon leaves her grandfather’s place and the way he said goodbye had me screaming! That feeling just lingers and makes you think about it all night
Like, wtf. The ex-Fiance, thought she followed him there? Does that mean he didnt think his disguise is fool proof? Isnt he suppose to be powerful? Like, hasnt he sensed her presense? The guys a total idiot.. use your brain not your mouth...
the ex fiancé really thought she was there for him... then got jealous(?) or taken aback bc he saw her with another guy. He even tried to pull the “im her fiancé” card, embarrassing
Oh he’s the 2nd ML? I thought he’d be an antagonist tbh. Also is there LCD or do we just talk about it in this thread?
The new manga raw seems to show her being swallowed up by a snake that disappears bringing the lake with him?
He is a sh!t. Ignore that thing. Btw how will MC take care of the matter regarding her step b*#©h mom and sh!t step bro??
