From what I read in previous posts. No he doesn't.
The cure for the illness he died from in the previous life, was discovered years after his death.
The young doctor who treated her in the clinic for hand injury, is the one who discovers this cure (I think).
Somehow, I think she finds the cure before the original completion date.

 

Do we have more information about the 2nd brother?
He seems useless too but not as bad as the oldest brother. Just very blunt and tactless.
Is Laranne his daughter? or Vieze's?
Does Astalieu still turn out to be a jerk when he grows up?

 

Vieze is such an iredeemable prick. Not only is he incompetent and arrogant. He seems to have more loyalty towards the Angenas than his own family- whom he constantly works to undermine just to get brownie points from the Empress. pathetic.

I haven't said empress goal was to ally the family just that what happened in the previous life was karma at its best. She intentionally crippled Lombardis' family and in the long run made that the support the 1st prince could get from the Lombardi's family was non existent. By ruining the Lombardis' family from inside she made easier the 2nd prince path. Imagine if the later had to fight against an idiotic prince with the support of an still strong family.

How bad the 1st prince is? MC mentions he and Belsach are the same, so that gives an idea about how utter incompetent he is

 

Yeah but he was VERY weak. And it's because of that the MC suffered in her previous life being bullied and exploited by other relatives (mainly Vieze and Bellesac).
Since her dad made no effort to assert himself in the family. MC gets injured by her uncle in front of the dad and he does NOTHING.


He is a sweet dad but too passive.
He cowers easily, to his brothers - especially Vieze.
Even the aunt - his sister, tells him he needs to stop being a coward and assert himself more. Because their father won't live forever and there will be nobody to protect her from Vieze and his son.

 

Just to be clear, he did NOTHING because he did NOT know that her daughter gets bullied by her cousins. cmmiw, but in the novel it also seems that he did not notice that MC was shoved by her uncle as he asked MC a bit later where she got the bruise in her wrists.

Im not trying to defend him, but yeah his timidy is the result of their current circumstance and how MC was treated in the past life. Add to the fact the MC's mother was considered a commoner, a vagrant, hence MC was belittled because of her supposed to be 'commoner's blood'. He thought that because MC mother died early on, he should shower her daughter with affection instead of fighting with his brothers for the position of patriarch/family head.

Even earlier chapters, MC's grandfather that he was wrong on how he raised his children.

 

The grandfather made note to Clelivan that main reason he rules out Gallahan as heir, is not for "marrying/relationship with a commoner" it's because he is too weak-hearted and passive. As affectionate as he is, his cowardice is also apparent for others to see. This is what his older brother and his nephews exploit by abusing the MC.

I disagree, he DID know. The MC noted that when her father mentioned it to the brothers, they (especially Vieze) would brush it off as "child's play" and that he was "overreacting". Even his sister told him off after she had to intervene when he was getting pushed around by Vieze. That his way of handling things only will harm his daughter in the long-run.
There is more to being a parent than "being affectionate". Protecting your child and being a firm role model is also important. The MC lacked this from a guardian in her prior life and it's why she suffered and originally developed low-self esteem.

 

My bad, yup it seems like he knew the bullying from her cousins. My brain probably got fried from mtl'ing.
But I would stand by the fact that Gallahan did not know that MC was pushed/shoved by her Uncle Vieze as he arrived late at the scene. It was further confirmed when he asked MC how she got the bruise in her wrist. (Note: All info are from the novel)

• MC making a deal with an information business owner who owns a bakery, but on the inside its an information agency
• ML getting persuaded to enter the academy
• Preparation for MC's debutant ball
