when cooking or baking without the use of clock or timers? When walking? In General? (without use of tools or even buying stuffs and looking at receipts)
Certain tasks roughly take the same amount of time every time I complete them. For example, I know roughly how long it takes to walk to the school in town, so I can use that as a measure for how long it takes me to walk a block. For cooking, I always use a timer until I've done it enough times to know instinctively how long certain things take. I'm a terrible cook though, so this isn't a frequent occurrence for me. Also there was that quest in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask where you have to perfectly time 10 seconds for the mailman, so that gave me a bit of chrono-precision.
By feel. "It feels like it's time" For cooking, baking and in general. For in general I'm often late so I check the clock when it feels like the time is approaching. I often check too late too but checking has saved me many times. It's accurate when cooking, to tell when to stir or flip something. With baking it's usually a little fast, and I need to bake it a bit more but it's fine, just check it by eye or with a toothpick and wait a bit. Or by the sunlight. "It looks like around 11 o clock, probably 11:30" To tell what time it is for planning purposes. This is usually accurate as long as it's not foggy or very overcast.
