You know the people in the internet can be so random that i once see conversation about someone who thought Russia invaded USA because it invaded Georgia. If they come across to be as too dumb to be true could apply to real world situations but i don't doubt it if it didn't to people in the internet.
While you can't really view anything seen on the interwebs as absolute, I think Hanlon's razor best describes most of the interwebs. "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" is a fairly good rule to take into consideration.
