Have you ever carved your name and your partners name on a tree or seen it on a tree I’ve only seen it on American movies and tv shows but it’s creepy a guy pulling out a knife to that I’d be scared of him for carrying a knife with him seems unnerving E24ED0A9-3E09-4FEF-9D96-0866A023CC70.jpeg

It's worse when you see it on stone. Did you go on a date or spend your time carving it in? I'm inclined to believe such things are done by singles with unrequited love.

Recently went to a lake, there was a "fairy trail" you could hike across, the trees were filled with names and dates.

Actually, just in general I've seen it a lot here in Ireland.

I did once in high school, the last day before I graduated.. Tho I just wrote my name in Katagana on a tree near my school.

But then I realized that's kinda cringe of me to do that haha (I usually have a cutter since I'm in Art major)

i prefer drawing in wet cement to carving, but im not opposed to it. As for why people have a knife with them, i would say knives are one of the most versatile tools you could have. You can shave, comb your hair, scratch that itch on your back that would be otherwise unreachable, clean a fish, and make other tools.

I used to draw penises on trees that had those names carved on them, one name on each ball. You don't really need knifes. There are loads of things that you can use as a substitute. My go to was the steel ruler though, but a sharp rock or a geometry compass worked great too...

I think I don't need my name written in a tree to celebrate my love with the person I care for, so... I wouldn't ever do that, I have better things to do with my time, really... And more interesting things to do with the one I love~ <3

Carvings on trees are all too common here. Same goes for carvings on locks, like a small padlock. Carve your names, lock it on a bridge and throw the key in the water below. Some spots are so popular the combined weight of the locks threatens the bridge's stability, leading to local governments habitually replacing the "locked" fences/posts etc.

Where and when I grew up it was weirder not to have a knife everywhere you go most boys get their first knife somewhere around 5 to 7 years old they're very useful in everyday life not a day goes by where I haven't had to pull out my knife for some reason to open a box to remove a splinter to cut a rope string or wire all kinds of reasons it's also pretty common for people to carry guns either on their person or in their car and most certainly everyone has one in their home at the very least so knives don't generally concern most people

Never seen one, and I won't really try carving my name with my partner on a tree since I don't have a partner and that's too much of a hassle why not do other things on your date? I'm sure there are plenty of things to do.
And I carry anything sharp with me always.

I've even seen people carve their names into a wooden post lmao

    Vandalism :blob_coughblood:

I wouldn't do it, too much effort for a tree that's probably going to be cut down anyways :blobsalt:
