Yay everyone! I'VE GOT COVID! im going crazy now running out of things to do in my room and I'm thinking about sharing the two works I've been slowly writing over the past 8 years. (Ok maybe only one of the two at first) I was wondering if there's a good site to go to where you're work is able to remain in your own copyright but be shared with the public. Kinda wondering if some other people reading it would give me motivation to write a bit faster as well as some good old constructive criticism to improve my writing skills.
Use CMS like blogging platforms, then simply promote your content here on NU, on Reddit, or on other forums or social media platforms.
Chrysanthemum Garden, webnovel, wattpad, Wix, etc. You can also create your own site if you want and then promote the site/novel on social media platforms.
Depends on the type of novel. A litrpg/ western fantasy may be better on Royalroad. A cultivation style may be better on webnovel. A more general fiction may be better on wattpad. BL on Chrysanthemum Garden, and whatever nonsense is on scribblehub.
I've been reading on royalroad since like 2016, and it's a pretty even mix of everything to be honest. It does have a large amount of LitRPG that hits trending, but that's what most people are looking for on there. If a story was hosted on every website that has been mentioned in this thread, I would probably read it on scribblehub as it is more modern and has good shortcuts and the dark theme is an awesome navy blue. Royalroad is the second best as it has okay shortcuts, good night mode, and okay stats. Webnovel is super last place, and everywhere else is okay I guess. If webnovel wasn't so greedy I would choose it hands down as that website is clean as frick
Just a wee bit of sarcasm. I've been cooped up with noone to talk too but my wife or my dog for almost a week now. Starting to go insane... (but I thought I was already insane)
Post your novel on Royalroadl, Sribblehub and Fictionpress also don't forget to post advance chapter on your own blog/site so that readers will go to read on your site.
I know this is a bit late but I want to say to not do this as most diy blog sites suck horrendously for readers to navigate on unlike the dedicated websites like royalroad and scribblehub. If you are going this route, monetize it and post advanced chapters on patreon. One dude is making like 20k a month off his fiction by doing this.
