Series that are not just about breaking through realms while learning generic techniques that are a dime a dozen. A few examples: - In Emperor Dominion the cultivation each cultivator has a Life Wheel(longevity+energy), Fate Palace(related to techniques and skills) and a Physique(there are all kinds of physiques that grant certain properties to the user's body), On top of that there is a ranking for techniques and at a higher level you're supposed to create your own grand dao. - in the second half of Coiling Dragon characters power is mainly depending on learning Profound Mysteries related to the existing elements(fire, water, etc) and fusing them, the more mysteries you fuse the stronger the resulting technique. - In The Nine Cauldrons the protagonist creates his own body cultivation system based on the elements and continues to improve it throughout the entire series.
To be honest, in the novels you described above, the systems are not unique, but the most common ones. Unique cultivation is found in the novels Reverend Insanity and Soul of Negary.
Yeah, they don't necessarily have to be unique, they just need to be somewhat interesting and have a little bit of depth to them.
Stellar Transformation. Same setting of Coiling Dragon (same author and same world from a multiverse point of view but other universe, MC meet Coiling Dragon MC in the end btw). MC follow a unique cultivation system, that no one else practice from the start and this system is unfinished, thus MC must create the latter half of the system (create successfully and improve, create unsuccessfully and die, don’t create and get stuck forever in actual cultivation level). Seeing you like Coiling Dragon you will 100% like this one (or even more). Obs: The Nine Cauldrons is, also, from the same author from Coiling Dragon and Stellar Cultivation, thus this thing of create MC own cultivation path may be a thing from this author.
Thanks, I have read all of IET works lol but yes as you have said they all have an interesting cultivation system. Any recommendations from other authors ?
Did you read seeking the flying sword path? Was his last novel and was released in 2017. I don’t even know if it’s a finished novel or not. The Desolate Era at the middle end to end will have a different cultivation system for each character, but that’s because of the general cultivation system of the novel (after some point in cultivation you can’t follow any know path, you either create your path, perish or kept stuck as a worldgod if i remember well). ISSTH also has a variant path for MC, but it’s not that different from normal path (just better / more profound).
Pursuit of the Truth is really good Has quite a diverse cultivation system from berserkers to shamans
