I've read many novels with supposedly low-key protagonists but they always end up becoming this renowned figure that can shake the world with a single action and all that's left is more generic stuff but with a "oh no I actually don't want to do any of this ((" twist. Not saying that's bad but I'm curious if there are there any novels where the main character actually tries ( you can see his efforts to stay hidden) and/or manages to stay low-key.
Top Tier Providence, Secretly Cultivate for a Thousand Years - the mc stays hidden all the time, no one knows of his existence except for a select few.
There Was No Secret Organization to Fight with the World’s Darkness so I Made One (In Exasperation). Technically? He doesnt explicitly reveal himself and takes precautions to stay hidden but the world does know about him. To be a power in the shadows! Also technically? Barely anyone knows about his mob self and even his shadow self stays in the shadows... most of the time
