I want a novel in which the villain is as smart as the protagonist, so that the novel isn't about one sided upliftment of the protagonist but a place where the protagonist need to fight tooth and nails to move the story forward or to survive.
Kindly give me a novel which, from your standards, seems smart in that way
I can give you some examples:-
    1) Manhua called (How to live as a villian -kr-) in which the protagonist is shown to be a person who has to put every bit of effort just to with the high ranking players and not be left behind (though the way they showed him was by calling the MC a "villian")
    2) A romance novel called (The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage -cn-) which though bummed me out when it focused on the emotion, rebirth and revenge a bit too much, but was overall a satisfying read as it didn't put down the villains as someone stupid. The MC had to do many things, play mind games, compare both herself and her enemy's mind again and again in order to survive and get her way.
    3) There was another novel (i forgot it name) which was based on a warrior going to the past and then setting on the path on becoming a king. I liked that novel but when it focused too much on military's strategy rather than on psychological Warfare, i got bored a little bit.
If anyone understood what type of novel I'm asking for and have any novel that matches such requirement, kindly let me know.
PS : Novel can have even the harem/horror tag if the novel is good.

So it fits even if the novel is made with a smart or not stupid antagonist?

Then 'The First Order' is pretty good, made me laugh a lot. Though that's not the focus.
