for the past 1.5 years or so, i've been reading lots and lots of BL (ranging from novels to comics : manhua/manhwa/manga, sometimes even anime). later, i tried to read non BL novels, comics, and animes, but i cant. my conclusion after some experiments is that as long as it's 2D, i cant read/watch BG. even for novels like, for example, The Legendary Mechanic (only has tiny bits of romance) and World of the Magus World (harem but the MC doesn't 'love' them), i have to force read them. [there's no problems with those without romance elements] what to do :') does anyone have any advice?
Try thinking about what you like about BL, and look for het that has those elements. For instance, I read mostly GL, but will occasionally read het where I don't feel the author is trying to force all women into one stereotype and all men into another.
I kinda know this feeling. Not to the extend you've described though. Maybe try to add your own headcannon: genderbend the heroine or ship them with the best friend or whoever if you're reading male Mc novels, ignore/switch pronouns in novels in your head.
Hmm The Legendary Mechanic and World of the Magus World are novels with male protagonists so maybe try a female protagonist? I feel lots of BL and female lead protagonist in BG novels are written by female authors so I feel they're more likely to get the vibes you like in BL. Another idea though honestly I don't want to promote supporting plagiarism, but there are BL novels that were plagiarized into BG, ie https://www.novelupdates.com/series/three-lives-three-worlds-ten-miles-of-peach-blossoms/ who plagiarized https://www.novelupdates.com/series/peach-blossom-debt/ So you could try to read those ones since those definitely just change the gender/names and see how you feel about it >.<"
thankssss! i'll try them career types? as in something like Reverend Insanity and LotM ? then yeah i like them a lot when im tired of reading romance novels (BL), i read novels like RI (its soo goodd)

Try reading well-written stories with Female Protagonists. They'll feel very similar to BL, but will still be different enough to keep you engaged. Emphasis on Well-written though. Don't go reading the mediocre stuff because you'll get bored out of your mind and will remind yourself why you started reading BL in the first place.
Uhn... From the top of my head? Cardcaptor Sakura is one of my favorites. Kobato is another great one. ... I honestly can't think of any other from the top of my head though. It's been too long since I actively read Shoujo, and I don't remember the titles of the mangas I used to read back in the day...
There are novels where at least one character has both sexes (is a hermaphrodite). There's one called Secret Nights in the Inner Palace, for example. In China, there's a lot of manhua and novels where the female lead has to impersonate a man. Usually the ML is straight and becomes attracted to the female lead, unaware that she's female. One example is called Your Majesty, Please Calm Down. I read several manhua/novels like this but I can't remember the names right now. If you are interested, you can DM me and I will give you the titles later. I also recommend the novel and/or manhwa called The Emperor and the Knightess. The MC is a female knight and has very masculine qualities. She doesn't look feminine, either. The ML is fairly sensitive.
Hmm, try this: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/scream-queen/ There's also a very decent webtoon adaptation.
