I just turned 20 and highschool in my country ends at 19. So completely dependent on my parents and the world outside of a home ain't safe for a woman in my country- kidnapping, rape, molestation cases at an all time high.
In short: I've run out of options
I kept refusing for as long as I can but now they found a guy who matched all their prospects and it looks like even if I refuse now, it'd be inevitable. Meaning they wouldn't quit it until they marry me off.
So I made the most logical and beneficial decision possible: Find a guy (among the existing proposals) who's overseas, to escape this environment and culture and get married. I'm apathetic to love and emotions so I don't mind getting married to someone whom I'm not attracted to.
Made this decision based on the most objectively advantageous prospect as possible but I also kinda feel bad for treating marriage like an exchange. So I've (as of now) decided that even if I can't come to like the person romantically I'd still treat them well as long as they do the same.
I'm sorry if it feels like I'm an asshole because I kind of am and I'm helpless

@AneeChan NO NO NO! You’re not an asshole to my eyes at all! You’re so young and it’s the only option you could find so I understand why you’re taking that route. Without any options and money, I would do the same. You can define marriage as anything you want it to be. I just really hope you're gonna be okay and safe after the ceremony. This is too cruel for me. I wish they are nice to you(the bare minimum) and the two of you will have a harmonious relationship. I'm still a mess cuz I feel sad and defeated for you. Nahhh, you’re not an asshole. I mean, if you can find someone that can help you that would be great. You don’t exactly have to get married to them as it can be a friend or someone who you signed a contract relationship with (aka you both agreeing to be in a relationship for your own benefits).

 

I have to admit that I fall in love with people easily . Thankfully it is starting to get better... or maybe that's just me trying to convince myself as such.

The first person I had a crush was when I was living in the country that I was born in. They were a relative to a neighbor I had and I was very shy in regards to expressing my feelings. It was very evident tho that something was up with me ( I cringe thinking back then on it ) . It got to the point they caught on and made fun of me over it.

The second crush I had followed a similar pattern except at the time we went to the same school and saw each other quite often as a result of their parent being a close friend to mine. We would often hang out , talking about the stupidest things etc. At some point in time , I was obvious and so they asked me about it then expressed they never saw me that way .

After those two experiences, whenever I realized I was crushing on someone I would try my best to keep my distance , this worked for the most part. Unless the person happened to be a person I had to see frequently. As a result I ended up being someone who saw them form bonds with others which eventually became romantic .( some of which turned out to be my close friends).

( Not all of my experiences with love were one sided but for those that weren't it didn't last long ha ha . )

Although I was sad in that moment , I think it allowed me to be able to have other experiences which shape me as I am today and for that I am truthfully gratefully ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
